Hi,

Brand new member, I’m 28, had thyroid cancer a few years ago which resulted in total thyroid removal and I’m now on 200 micrograms of levothyroxine a day.

For around a few weeks now I’ve been experiencing quite intense chest pain and rashes.

I’ve just realised that a few weeks ago I started taking a type of levothyroxine which I’ve never had before called Aristo, wondering if this could be the cause.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

Would love to connect with you guys as I’ve been alone on this journey up until now 👍🏻

Thanks,

Jordan

There have been a few threads about Aristo with various opinions:

There might be some other threads as well!

Seems to be the way of things that each of us is individual and we can have very different reactions to the various makes.

I'll add, I suggest you do a Yellow Card report:

Hi Jordan, I’ve just finished a few months of Aristo 100’s. They made me feel so great I called the pharmacy to request these exclusively from now on. I take 150mcg a day and usually have Teva before these.

Hope that helps X

Hi AuntieMandy, I really want to try Aristo as its lactose free. Can I just ask out of curiosity where abouts you are and what pharmacy you use please?

Hello Jmoody and welcome to the forum :

Well I think in the first instance contact your surgery and explain you now have rashes and chest pans from what apprears to be a new brand on Levothyroxine for you.

I can't see why a fresh rescriptions can't be issued with a named brand you know you have taken in the past without experiencing any side effects.

The chest pain could be down to flutuating T3 and T4 levels - maybe get these tested and compare to previous results, but eher way, chest pain needs sorting, involving a doctor.
