What are people experiences with the Aristo brand of levothyroxine? My doctors states ‘ no teva’ on my prescriptions but not had these.

If you search posts, there are at least 26 which mention Aristo.

Quite a few of those do report member experiences.

They are only available, in the UK, in 100 microgram dosage. Other dosages are available elsewhere - such as Ireland.

Apologies - meant to include a link to a search - adding now!

This is a suitable search:

Thank you so much. Just called my pharmacist who argued with me and said the brands have no differing potency and I need my levels checking, not a change of brand!!!

All makes are supposed to have potency within the range 90 to 105% across the entire shelf life to expiry.

That is a significant difference on its own. But add issues such as differential absorption - sometimes explicable, sometimes, not, and the potential of negative effects of excipients, and the differences can affect us all too much.

Aristo was a lifesaver for me. Teva left me unable to walk with horrible leg and back pain. Within a few days of taking Aristo, all that was gone.

Hi, I'm new here, I had bad experiences with Teva brand, very unwell and now been taking Eltroxin last few years, better but I still gets lots aches, never thought it may be the brand. Will look into Aristo or is this the same company?

Aristo is, umm, Aristo! :-)

Eltroxin is one of the two brandings used by Mercury Pharma (part of Advanz) for the exact same product.

I have created, and try to maintain, a document containing details of all thyroid hormone medicines in the UK and many in other countries.

You will find quite a bit in the document and more in links from it.

helvella - Thyroid Hormone Medicines.pdf

This document has information about the available thyroid hormones in the UK and, in less detail, around the world.
