Hello all,
I take combination of T4 (100mcg) and T3 (60mcg - split into two doses morning (20mcg) and afternoon (40mcg) daily.
I recently had my bloods done at 9.30am and according to the advice from this forum on how to get most accurate results (i.e no biotin for week before, only water in the morning, no meds that morning/taken as required day before).
I have taken a screenshot and attached to this post (full attachments to be posted in comments as a lot was tested).
From what I can see and based on what I believe I have understood on this forum previously:
- my t4 is too low, t3 is about alright but wouldn’t want it to go lower
- my ferritin is perhaps a little low?
- my vitamin D could do with being a bit higher
Can anyone confirm if that seems to be the correct assessment for those items?
Also for the hormones, the test was taken on day 14 of my cycle (I usually ovulate between day 16-19 based off of natural cycles measurements), in which case my oestrogen seems high but within their range (though I’m not sure where ideally I’d be on that scale).
If anyone has any advice re hormones that would be great. I was worried I was oestrogen dominant based on symptoms I was having but I’m unclear from the bloods if it seems that I am.
I’m vitamin b12 deficient and so receive injections (for past 13 years) and supplement with folate - hence the very high results there. Not worried about those.
Also have been supplementing with vitamin D (6000iu a day), magnesium, omega 3, biotin (did not take for week before bloods) inositol, and a multivitamin which includes K2. I take supplements 4 hours after thyroid meds in morning and 4 hours before thyroid meds in afternoon.
Doctor won’t change protocol at all as have signs of osteopenia in my lower back (which she believes is from suppressed TSH...) though believes I was severely vitamin D deficient for a while based on symptoms/indication in bone marker results from a previous blood test. I’ve been D deficient before and so when she said that it all made sense to me with the symptoms I was having. I am only just recovering from that now (had taken vitamin D injections to boost levels quickly and now supplementing as above, hence no direct blood test for vitamin D which evidenced the level of deficiency). I queried whether the osteopenia was a result of vitamin D deficiency and not suppressed TSH which doctor agreed it could be but she still wouldn’t increase T4.
Any advice/thoughts on any of this results are greatly appreciated to help me figure out what needs improving.
This forum is so helpful - I really appreciate all the support! Wish most doctors were half as knowledgable, kind and helpful as everyone is on here.
