hello, i posted before, low t3, and 4 and also tsh lowish, high ldl, low ferritin, new to all this. It was suggested i get more tests eg cortisol etc , My initial post is here healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

@slowdragon and @jimh111 both gave helpful responses then

below are a large range of new results but i have posted cortisol, thyroid and ferritin /iron first, not sure of relevance of others

a few suggested possible central hypothyroidism and i am guessing this might fit the picture? if so, or not, any advice on next steps gratefully received

TSH 1.90 (0.27 - 4.20)

Free t4 12.3 (12.0 - 22.0)

Thyroid Peroxidase Abs (TPO)9

Free T3 3.6 (4.0 - 6.8)

Vitamin D 180

Iron 20.2. (10.6 - 28.3)

Ferritin 56 (30-400g/)

Estimated GFR 62

Who did these tests Ft3 range isn’t Medichecks or Blue horizon

Ft4 is obviously very very low

Ferritin low for a chap

No folate or B12

No thyroglobulin antibodies tested

GFR looks low. Hypothyroidism can cause low GFR

High cholesterol linked to being hypothyroid

Looking like central hypothyroidism

Hidden may pop along and comment on cortisol and DHEA

Ft4 is only 3% through range

Ft3 is BELOW RANGE

High cholesterol and hypothyroidism

nhs.uk/conditions/statins/c...

If you have an underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism), treatment may be delayed until this problem is treated. This is because having an underactive thyroid can lead to an increased cholesterol level, and treating hypothyroidism may cause your cholesterol level to decrease, without the need for statins. Statins are also more likely to cause muscle damage in people with an underactive thyroid.
