I have definitely had an improvement on this treatment, but I am not there yet. I am still taking only on one capsule first thing in the morning an hour before food. I think I am a bit nervous to take another one as that means it will go up from 50 mcg of T4 and 12.5 mcg T3 to 100 mcg of T4 and 25mcg of T3 – it just seems a big jump. So I shall hang on until we go back to England in the summer and I shall try and make an appointment with a recommended endo then.
One big thing for me was the fact that my Cholesterol went down from 314 (8.12) to 248 (6.41). My cholesterol has always been a problem for me – even with statins it doesn’t go down to what my doctor would like and as the statins don’t suit me, I am always fighting to stay off them and I haven’t taken them for over a year now – so very pleased with that result.
The reason for this post is that my B12 and Vit D are both still on the low side, as has been pointed out to me before, so I spoke to the nutritionist at the company that I buy supplements from re the B12 and she suggested that I take 1000ug (Methylcobalamin), one per day, and after that go on to a high strength B complex only. But when I took the B12 1000ug, I was sooooo ill, I had only taken 5, but I had to stop – it went straight through me, to the point that I couldn’t leave the house. I was so disappointed – does than mean that I have an allergy or an intolerance of B12? Or should I just try a lower dose?
The second thing is that I would be grateful if someone can tell me which Vit D3 works well for them.
I was prompted to write this post because of a reply from Slowdragon to someone else who was struggling to sleep (and that is one of my biggest problems) – explaining that Vit B12 and Vit D could contribute to the inability to sleep.
Thanks once again for all the help I receive here.
