Increased my T4 and T3 levels, but TSH heading up?

Please see results. I'm unsure why my TSH is on the up when I've improved my T4/T3?

TSH 2.02 mIU/L 0.27 - 4.20

FREE THYROXINE 20.000 pmol/L 12.00 - 22.00

FREE T3 5.42 pmol/L 3.10 - 6.80

THYROGLOBULIN <10 IU/mL 0.00 - 115.00 THYROID PEROXIDASE <9.0 IU/mL 0.00 - 34.00

ACTIVE B12 115.000 pmol/L 37.50 - 188.00 FOLATE (SERUM) 7.04 ug/L 3.89 - 26.80 25 OH VITAMIN D 73.5 nmol/L 50.00 - 200.00 FERRITIN 152 ug/L 30.00 - 400.00

Any help would be much appreciated.

I know my vitamins need some work.

Thanks

Neal

What time did you do your test? Did you fast from evening meal/supper the night before and delay breakfast until after test? Did you drink water only?

Did you do this test under the exact same conditions as previous test you are comparing to?

TSH varies, with it being highest early morning, fasting and drinking water only. TSH lowers throughout the day, can lower after eating, and drinking coffee can affect TSH.

Actually you might be right, as it maybe that I took this one earlier in morning.

Other than that it was all the same. Are night before, nothing in morning, and no Levo on morning until after test.

I'll have to remember this next time.

Thank you for that.

Is there something to be said for my T4 being slightly high?

I take 100/75 Levo on alternating days, and just wondering if it's worth dropping back down to 75 a day?

Have half my thyroid left.

Your FT4 is in range, as is your FT3. Most hypo patients find they are best when the hormone levels are in the upper part of the range, typically the upper quarter.

The question is how do you feel? If you feel fine there is no need to change your dose. If you feel overmedicated then drop your Levo down a notch.

Folate and vitamin D are both on low side

Just started CLO for my vitD and I'm going to start Bee Pollen in new year for my B's.

I don't really suffer with normal thyroid symptoms. I suffer with stiff achy legs, and a fair bit of twitching. Slight tremors, but have improved.

Symptoms started after finding nodule, but before having hemi, when they got worse again and although gradually improving, still there everyday!

Levo gave me muscle weakness and flashing in eyes (photopsia), but these have improved since adjusting to it.

Thanks for the help though, it's much appreciated, and hope you have a good Christmas!

That's interesting, I'm all for food sources (off to have a Google) :) . Would you mind reporting back at some point and letting us know how it goes. Tag me and remind me that I asked you :)

Bee pollen doesn't contain B12. But, even if it did, isn't that rather an expensive way of getting nutrients?

I don't know if it's expensive or not GG, I haven't looked into the cost of it. I know that my Thorne Basic B is £24.99 for 60 capsules and I take one a day, so my B Complex costs me 42p per day. I've no idea if the actual amount of the vitamins would be comparable either. I'm just curious and it will be interesting to hear how Neal gets on, and see how much it costs.

Yes, indeed. Do hope he keeps us posted. :)

Not sure if those levels are optimal though. Hope your being treated by an endocrinologist. Makes all the difference on fine tuning.

If only that would help.... they told me 75mg a day was enough.....

Having a good endocrinologist makes you one of the anointed few!

Either that, or you don't live in the UK.

Non-UK for sure! I'm guessing US :)

There are so many ways of reading drops of blood. Focussing on them can hold you back. Are you using a Synthroid or NDT? Synthroid will always give you bad results. They are produced to partner with other drugs. The goal should be feeling Happy, Strong and Health as naturally as possible. No synthetic drugs. Good diet, mostly plant-based, Exercise, NDT and the right Vitamins and minerals and Meditating for wellness. Start your day with a smile on your face.

Not what you're looking for?
