Your May results are getting there but I would want vitamin D tested again at this point to find out what's happening. How are you feeling now because you still have room to increase levo dose depending on symptoms.

Thank you for replying. The nurse said not to bother retesting vit D yet, I think I will request private vit D test at the 6 month mark at the end of summer, to see how it is then.

I am feeling better than I was, but not 100% better, but GP just keeps up the mantra “your results are normal “! I have gained a huge amount of weight and need to tackle this next, but not sure how without risking the balance of thyroid only just getting near to ok.

How do you feel?

Your high TPO shows you have Hashimoto's.

Folate, ferritin and B12 were all likely too low in Feb. What are you doing to improve these?

Are you on strictly gluten free diet? Have you tried it?

Hashimoto's affects the gut and leads to low stomach acid and then low vitamin levels

Low vitamin levels affect Thyroid hormone working

Poor gut function can lead leaky gut (literally holes in gut wall) this can cause food intolerances. Most common by far is gluten. Dairy is second most common.

According to Izabella Wentz the Thyroid Pharmacist approx 5% with Hashimoto's are coeliac, but over 80% find gluten free diet helps significantly. Either due to direct gluten intolerance (no test available) or due to leaky gut and gluten causing molecular mimicry (see Amy Myers link)

Changing to a strictly gluten free diet may help reduce symptoms, help gut heal and slowly lower TPO antibodies

Ideally ask GP for coeliac blood test first
