Feeling worse with dose increase, or, is it a bug.

Hi

I increased my levo. dose from 125mcg. to 150mcg. 3.5 weeks ago because of my results from Medichecks and on going symptoms, fatigue, anxiety, very emotional, palpitations and constipation.

Two weeks ago, one evening I felt really nauseous and jittery, and wondered if I had gone over active because of the jittery feeling, but my husband also felt sickly and off so thought we had got a bug. Felt a bit better the next day but still felt nauseous and have felt it on and off ever since.

Last weeks ago I woke up and my head felt as though it was swimming, a dizzy, wozzy feeling. I felt really out of sorts and felt really nauseous again and had a bad headache Felt a little better the next day but since then I have been exhausted, headaches and nausea coming and going, anxiety and down in the dumps.

Today I feel worse, feel really exhausted, legs really ache, headache, feels thick and heavy, nausea and generally out of sorts.

I am now worrying in case it is the increase in levo. that is causing this or if it is in fact a bug that's hanging around.

Does anyone think it could be levo. increase causing the symptoms.

Any advice gratefully received.

Thank you.

I can usually tell if I’m taking a little too much levothyroxine by taking my temperature and heart rate. Do you feel you’re overheated in all this hot weather? Is your heart rate above, say, 78?

Some of your vitamins are a bit low eg vit d and folate, but I’m hoping one of admin will advise you there.

Hi

thank you for your reply.

yes I do feel over heated in the hot weather, but since being hypo. I cannot stand the heat like I use to.

Pulse is O.K.

Sorry should have said I have since increased my Vit D from 2000iu to 6000iu since test.

I take a B Complex but just bought folate.

You may not like this advice, but you’ve been on this dose 5 weeks now, so how about ordering a test (tsh, free t3, free t4) and do it at the 6 week mark. Some people say wait 8 weeks, but as you are at a loss as to what is going on it might be worth a check at this stage. Then you’ll know if your levels are the culprit.

Hi

I have only been on this dose for 3.5 weeks so too early for a test. I wish I could do a test now.

Hi

thank you for your reply.

No I have not changed brands. I always stick to Actavis and the pharmacy has a note on the computer to say I must have this brand.
