Hello you lovely people I would really appreciate it if you would cast your knowledgeable eye over my latest results, I am currently feeling well :-) taking 75mcg of levo and a capsule of 150 thyrogold which I understand is 50mcg of T4 and 12.5mcg of T3? I was first diagnosed in February 17 and have taken on board the advice here and the thyroid pharmacist.

I still felt hypo with these results so I am thinking I may have found my sweet spot however the medichecks Doctor has said.. "Having very low levels of thyroid stimulating hormone for several years has been associated with the development of osteoporosis. If your thyroid stimulating hormone always tends to be substantially below the normal range then it may be worth discussing with your GP whether a bone density scan is advised to monitor for the development of osteoporosis. You do not need to worry about the occasional low reading, only if you get repeated very low levels." I would appreciate your thoughts,

Clairewalker751 great to hear you’re feeling better. I’m so impressed with the way you’ve reduced your antibodies. Mine still fluctuate despite giving up grains and gluten back in April. Have you done anything particular to get them down? My nutritionist is concerned that mine are still very high. Really pleased to hear that the T3 is helping- I remember you posting saying that you were going to introduce some.

Thank you Kipsy! I take selenium and keep TSH surpressed I've also stopped having milk and switched to almond milk? So it's difficult to know exactly what's helped? My antibodies were in the 1000s when diagnosed but halved once I started levo then in April i did an autoimmune protocol the Amy Myers autoimmune solution. They've raised very slightly over Xmas so I've probably eaten something I shouldn't have?

Thanks so much Claire. I’ve been on selenium too since diagnosis and, like you, they were over 1000. I’ve been cheating a bit by having gluten free pasta and rice (which I was told not to do as I’m not supposed to have any grains) but the whole Paleo thing is hard work month after month!

I will retest in a couple of months in case my recent antibodies rise was a blip. I know people on here do t seem to worry about them waxing and waning so I was quite surprised how concerned my nutritionist was when I told her.

Onwards and upwards! Thanks again, Claire- so glad the T3 is helping. Take care.

I have gluten free pasta and brown rice I only did the autoimmune protocol for 30 days I'm guessing you've given up dairy? The protocol was extremely restrictive! Are you feeling well?

I haven't given up dairy but am wondering if perhaps I should now! Thank you for reminding me about Amy Myers- if it's 30 days I think I might get the book & try it. As you say, hard to pinpoint cause and effect sometimes. Feeling quite good thanks Claire- possibly slightly undermedicated but due to test next week so I have enough T4 to adjust the dose myself if needs be. Thanks again x

The thyroid pharmacist says if you give up nothing else give up gluten dairy and soy? May be worth stopping diary for a while to see if it helps with antibodies x

Thanks Claire Yes you’re absolutely right. Dairy will be hard..I do so love my cups of tea! All this testing gets so expensive too, doesn’t it 😕😕😕

God yes! I hate to think what I've spent? I love almond milk and my friend loves her tea with oat or rice milk no need to give up your tea :-)
