I have just had these results done at blue horizon. My b12 looks mad, is this because I only had my 3 monthly injection 31st May?
Also please can you say what the rest indicates for the thyroid?I would appreciate any advice about what to request from GP on next visit______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Ferritin H 463. 0 20 - 150 ug/L. - this is high, you might wish to discuss this with your GP. Recommended level for ferritin is half way through it's range.

Vitamin D (25 OH) 50 - this is low. Recommended level is 100-150nmol/L. You should consider supplementing with maybe 5000iu D3 daily for 3 months then retest. When you've reached the recommended level you need to find your maintenance dose to keep it there, that could be 5000iu alternate days, or 2000iu daily, maybe more, maybe less, and maybe less in summer. It's trial and error. When supplementing with D3 retesting once or twice a year is recommended to stay within the recommended range.
There are important cofactors needed when taking D3
D3 aids absorption of calcium from food and K2-MK7 directs the calcium to bones and teeth where it is needed and away from soft tissues and arteries where it can be deposited and cause problems.
D3 and K2 are fat soluble so should be taken with the fattiest meal of the day, D3 four hours away from thyroid meds.
Magnesium comes in different forms, check here to see which would suit you best and as it's calming it's best taken in the evening, four hours away from thyroid meds
Vitamin B12 H 807 - Not a problem as you're having B12 injections. I just supplement and keep mine at around 1000.
Serum Folate 16.90 8.83 - 60.8 nmol/L - this should be half way through it's range.
When taking B12 supplements we should also take a B Complex to balance all the B Vitamins. If you buy one which contains 400mcg methylfolate (rather than folic acid) this will help raise your folate level. A B Complex is a good general supplement for us Hypos anyway, it helps support adrenals too.

As your FT4 is slightly over range, this could indicate over medication. However, your FT3 is low and not in balance with FT4, and shows that your conversion is quite poor. Good conversion takes place when the FT4:FT3 ratio is 4:1 and yours is 5.53 : 1
A slight reduction in Levo and the addition of some T3 would help.

Even though these are in range, the TPO antibodies are very close to the top of it's range. You could actually have autoimmune thyroid disease aka Hashimoto's and this test may have been done when the antibodies were low. To help reduce antibodies many members have found that a strict gluten free diet helps, plus supplementing with selenium (which also helps T4 to T3 conversion) and keeping TSH suppressed.
Thank you so much for your reply. I will start off with Selenium and Folate for now and try to get a GP's appointment ASAP.
I feel like the thyroid is under attack - neck feels very bad and swallowing is uncomfortable, even a strain to speak!(husband is enjoying the rare tranquility
I have printed off your reply, so I can digest it as my brain is rubbish at the moment.
I wonder if you could recommend a stockist for supplements(I'm in UK)
Some of them are very expensive!
Once again I really appreciate you taking the time to leave such helpful info.
You tend to get what you pay for with supplements, cheap is cheap for a reason. Avoid supermarket, Boots and Holland and Barrett own brand, they tend to be full of the wrong form and/or least absorbable type of ingredients and generally use lots of unnecessary fillers.
Selenium - I use Cytoplan and buy when on 3 for 2. You can get cheaper but a lot of selenium supplements have an unpleasant odour. Cytoplan are a nice small tablet with no odour.
Magnesium - depends on which form you want. I only use Magnesium Citrate powder.
