Vitamin D and Methylcobalamin B12

Hi,

I have just been looking on amazon for Vitamin D3 5,000iu and Methylcobalamin B12 sublingual lozenges but so many came up from all different brand names and I don't want to buy the wrong one. What would be the best one to buy without extra unwanted ingredients?

For the methylcobalamin the most popular brands mentioned on here are Jarrow Formulas and Solgar.

I can't help with the vitamin D3, sorry.

I've been using DLux vitamin D spray with good results although it has various additives, you'd need to check it out. I also use Jarrows MethylB12 5000mcg sublingual B12 and I know it really works. So well I've np even having a little holiday from it for the last few months to see what happens.

I totally agree on the Jarrow 5000 methyl B12 and they taste yummy.

I also use Jarrow D3 5000 and if you can't get 5000 I'd buy 2500 and take two (depending on how much you need obvs). They are small oil capsules.

I'm very happy with both products to the point that I ignore my doc if he suggests another- others don't taste as good or are harder to source. These are easy to get from Amazon.

If anyone orders anything from Amazon - it would be very much appreciated if any of these links can be used as Thyroiduk.org.uk who get a very small commission to help with the running of the office who needs funds to promote the woeful treatment of many of us.

Shaws I think that has changed now. Sorry not at home so can't give the details but Lyn posted something about 1-2 months back and asked me to report back if it worked. You sign up for a site which I can't remember the name of and you go through that each time. They link with other places besides Amazon and also let you know the total that has gone from Amazon to Thyroid Uk and also how much your recent purchases have made. I decided to start with a few Christmas Presents and I raised something like 35p. I know that doesn't sound much but if all on HealthUnlocked did it then the sum would be very useful and helpful for the group who have helped many of us so much.

I've taken that link from HU Thyroiduk but I'll check as I've been linking that for a while.

Thanks. Always better to be up-to-date.

Oh! I think I remember now - it takes time for brain to work. I think it was easyfundraising. This is it:-

Thanks.

I've just double-checked. If someone mainly uses Amazon they can still use that link.

If they use different places/shops the can use Easyfundraising as it covers a lot of different shops.

Thyroiduk.org gets a little help which mounts up.

easyfundraising.org.uk/ and when you sign up you search for a good cause to support *ThyroidUK*

Then you go to the retailer you want to buy from (eg Amazon, but there are lots of others) so your purchase is registered and TUK get some dosh.

I use Solgar sublingual Methylcobalamin B12. For D3 I use Doctor's Best 5000iu softgels which contain only the D3 plus extra virgin olive oil and the softgel capsule is just gelatin, glycerin and purified water. The D3 is derived from lanolin.

I agree with SeasideSusie for the D3 and humanbean for the Jarrow B12. So far they contain the least amount of **** by way of fillers and extraneous ingredients. I'd also add that the D3 should be taken at the same time as healthy fats to aid absorption.

Now D3 5,000IU softgels - same ingredients as for the Drs Best, both are recommended. Life Extension Super K with advanced K2 complex too. No nasty ingredients. (only if you're not taking blood thinners) or Jarrow K2 (MK - 7). or a soy free version if you are on thyroid stuff.

Jarrow B12 as above or I have seen Bluebonnet also recommended for good ingredients.

Thorne is a good active B complex......

Thank you so much everyone :) I will order them through the Thyroid UK link later on today x

For D3 I get the 2000 iu liquid stuff from Biotics research bio d mulsion forte. A bottle lasts about a year.

Hi there, both things you are looking for can be purchased directly from UK Dr. Myhill's online shop.

She ensures her supplements are the purest you can find. I use the pure D3 powder mixed in water but it can also be sprinkled on food.

I don't know anything about sub lingual B12 as I self inject. Good luck.

I am a bit worried now, maybe I should just stick to Vitamin D3 1000iu for now and I will still order the B12 online. My Vitamin D was 52 and the bottom range started from 80 :/

My Dr has put me on Adcal long term, they are chewable fruity tablets. 1500mg.400 iu twice a day.

But you probably don't need extra calcium - most people these days get too much (and too little magnesium). If you take D or calcium, you should be taking K2 to make sure that the calcium goes into your teeth and bones, not your arteries.

I will ask Dr about this on my next visit,I am almost 72 yrs old so perhaps they think I need the extra calcium. I also have COPD but not severe though.

I was told that the brands Pure, and Thorne were pharmaceutical grade. I have been changing all my vitamins over to those. I also use metagenics. I order from Amazon.

Thank you for your question, I have the same concern.

Vitamin D3 is the best form of Vitamin D. Also, it should be taken with Vitamin K2 for better absorption. The lesser known vitamin K2 is also necessary for bones. Try to get a combination pill/capsule of D3 and K2. This is available in sublingual form in New Zealand (Clinicians brand) and 'iherb' (USA) supply it as a capsule
