I've got low vitamin D and one of my symptoms is severe anxiety and panic attacks. Not sure if these are related. Someone suggested taking magnesium alongside vitamin D to help with the panic and anxiety. Has anyone had any luck with magnesium citrate helping with anxiety?

Vitamin D and Anxiety
Someone suggested taking magnesium alongside vitamin D to help with the panic and anxiety.
Did they really suggest magnesium for that reason? Or did they say that you should always take magnesium when taking vit d because the two work together, and taking vit D without magnesium will deplete your magnesium, which is probably low, anyway. I don't know if low magnesium causes panic and anxiety, but it does cause a hell of a lot of other symptoms, so you really ought to be taking it.
Hi, not sure your sex, age or what your thyroid status is but anxiety can be a major factor of perimenopause/menopause if that could apply to you.
Thank you I am female and 30 so I'm not sure menopause could be a factor? How would I know?

GP will often only prescribe to bring vitamin D levels to 50nmol.
Some areas will prescribe to bring levels to 75nmol or even 80nmol

GP should advise on self supplementing if over 50nmol, but under 75nmol (but they rarely do)

But with Hashimoto’s, improving to around 80nmol or 100nmol by self supplementing may be better

How much levothyroxine are you taking
What were most recent TSH, Ft4 and Ft3 results
And B12, folate and ferritin results
Recommended that all thyroid blood tests early morning, ideally just before 9am, only drink water between waking and test and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test
This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)
