• Damage to the nerves from diabetes (diabetic neuropathy) is a leading cause of foot
wounds
and ulcers, which frequently lead to foot and leg amputations.

HELLO!
Turns out I have got an infection in one of my
wounds
(yukky) :( Anyway on antibiotics and loads of visits to see the district nurses. So hopefully will feel more back to normal soon. Next couple of weeks off to hospital appointments. 7th. 10th, and 15th.

I wasn't even in the queue for patience
Had to work all through but I have had staff in today so can lick my
wounds
between feeling sorry for myself with the pain.

AMPUTATION OR MEDICATION?
Group, you have been kind and helpful since I discovered this site a few weeks ago. I mentioned that I am facing amputation of a leg, after I have open-heart surgery. Now, here's the good news - parts of me still work very well! My newest dilemma is whether to take pain medication for my "bad" leg

Suspicious..?
I use a key to cut so my
wounds
are more deep scratches rather than neat, thin slices you get from blades, mine hurt a lot more. However the key seems to be becoming blunt, it doesn't cut as well as it used to causing me to push deeper which obviously hurts more.

A short poem
To kill it with a pill, and pour alcohol on the
wounds
. But he is without a panacea, no cure. And still it howls I drown it. Tied in a sack of distraction: thrown in a river of music and TV. But the river soon runs dry. And still it howls I care for it.

Has anyone faced amputation?
I saw my cardio-thoracic surgeon today - he operated on my left leg years ago and diagnosed my APS. The leg has clogged up again and is very painful. He said there have been no advances with APS treatments and I should consider amputation. We could try surgery again, but I will clog up eventually.

Exhaustion after Laparoscopy
Last night I slept less than 5 hours, I couldn't get comfortable from the pain in my back and my incisions
wounds
are hurting me so much. Now, I just can't stop crying. I am supposed to be back at work on Monday, after two weeks off, but I feel nowhere near ready.

Wrap up warm and take care.
For many years I have studied meteorology so it is with great interest I have been watching a combination of circumstances that could mean the coldest snowiest winter for many years for us here in the UK. I have been saying in my weather circle that I expect winter to arrive much earlier than usual.

Can anyone recommend a good wax bath to buy?
At the raynuad's and scleroderma association annual conference a few weeks ago one of the skin care nurse specialists said that Wax Baths can be soothing and offer relief for your skin if you don't have any open
wounds
(which happily I don't at the moment).

I have a behchet sindrome. Doctors said because of this my eyes have no tears and they cant get wet, they dry. Artificial tears dont help.
My email is minov_z@yahoo.com Previous time i had inflammation and
wounds
in my mouth and...then i noticed i had coxaci virus infection antibodies, now i checked i have a strong adinoviruses infection. Maybe everytime some virus infection unlockes behchet sindrome.

One of the advantages of having relatives to stay is that you visit the local attractions which are ignored during your day to day life. I have had my cousin here for the last fortnight which has been a bit of a mixed blessing as I'm not very good at saying when things get too tiring or painful for

What does it mean to be in the ESA Work Related Activity Group?
Most people get put into the Work Related Activity Group (otherwise known as WRAG) - probably at least 80 or 85%. It means you are deemed to be able to engage in 'work related activity' i.e. talking to an employment adviser about your future return to the workplace, and what support you might need to
