bless you - have they talked to you about it, suggested anything else, i hear a lot of ladies don't always find endo on their first lap, but it doesn't mean its not there - you need to discuss the results of the lap with your gp - i worried as i went down to theatre that they woudn't find anything, and i didnt want them to find endo but they did and now i'm looking at a hysterectomy, i really didnt want the diagnosis to be endo, but like you i still wanted a reason for the pain - at the end of the day, you still have pain, that has not been explained so you need to keep pushing, and i know you will sometimes feel like giving up with it all, i have quite often, if you want to message me feel free, and take care of yourself xx
Oh really feel for you my gynae told me before my lap that in 60% of ladies with pelvic pain they don't find anything, but that doesn't mean the pain isn't real, your not mad.
Try and think of it as a process of elimination, rather than back to square 1.
Ask gp to refer you to urologist or gastroenterologist if you haven't already been down these roots.
Have you had an mri? I don't know much about it but some ladies have adeno rather than endo. I'm sure someone will point you in right direction.
The pain after the op can be horrible and take a good two-three weeks for some people for it to calm down, so be kind to yourself. Eat and drink well and get plenty of rest.
Maybe keep a diary of symptoms and activities and diet so when you go back to gp they have lots of info they can use.
Im a surgical nurse and some people I have cared for just find relief from a lap even if nothing was found, I'm pretty sure sometimes things feel a bit twisted in there and a lap can free them up so don't give up hope.
If you need advice, please keep messaging on here. Lots of ladies have been where you are now and we are here for youxxx
I was told after my lap there were no signs of endo, then I had an MRI and they decided I have stage 4 endo! You can ask for a second opinion, do some research and find an endo specialist in your area x
Hello, no I've not had an mri, how do i go about asking for one? Who do i ask for a second opinion? This has been going on for 11 years, I have been told so many things now i just want it to be over. How do i find endo specialist in my area? xxx
Endo was missed at my first two laps and found at the 3rd. It was then not seen again at the 4th! Now I'm waiting for another. I have stage 4 and my surgeon told me my pill was probably making it hide. So don't give up, make sure you're not discharged as clearly something isn't right. Really good luck x
