Special playtimes
Hi, I'm Jan Vance and have been a play therapist at The Children's Trust since 2004. During that time I have provided play therapy to support children during their residential placements for acquired brain injury rehabilitation. In this blog, I talk about how making time for special play can benefit

feeling worthless and hopeless
I don't know what's wrong with me. I don't feel like I'm good at anything. I'm always doing something wrong. I make a lot of mistakes in whatever I'm doing. When I was in school I made mistakes on my school work and now I do the same on my job. I have poor memory, Im always forgetting things. I forget

I think my son has ADHD
My son is 4 and in Reception at school. During parents evening tonight the teachers recommended I visit the Dr about his lack of ability to concentrate. I am convinced now he has ADHD and am so worried because during my first 8 weeks of pregnancy I didn't know and was taking a large dosage of Effexor

Yawning ..... Strange feeling ?
I have been on Escitalopram for the past week. I've noticed that when I yawn I get a strange feeling in my throat. Kind of like an adrenaline rush. It sometimes feels like I am going to be sick but then passes after a few seconds. I've looked at the side effects list but it is not one if them. I

Simple self-help technique I learnt to help ease anxiety etc.
I have included the link to the original website at the bottom... "Excerpt from Émile Coué’s Self-Mastery through Conscious Autosuggestion (1922) Every morning before getting up and every evening as soon as you are in bed, shut your eyes, and repeat twenty times in succession, moving your lips

How long does it take to start losing weight?
I know that at the beginning at least fat is converting to muscle and there can be
water
retention
in the muscle but how long does it take to start actually losing weight? I do feel fitter and leaner but just wish the scales would move! Thanks for any ideas.

Too many diuretics?
My friend is taking Furisemide for
water
retention
and has had her prescription recently upped from 40 to 80mg daily. However she recently told me that she takes between 200 and 240mg each day as this has the best effect on taking away excess fluid. Is this going to do her any harm?

Get Busy
I have a favour to ask of you, well not really because this may affect you and it could either be beneficial to yourself or another with TS young or old. I came across another EDM yesterday, and EDM, Early Day Motion is basically where an MP wants to discuss with other members of the House of Commons

upcoming TV programmes
Hi there just thought I would let people know of upcoming TV programmes. I should say that I haven't seen these programmes yet so I don't know what they are like and they may not represent the opinions of Tourettes Action or the Tourettes community - but it will be interesting to watch
