stomach tightens up

my stomach seems to tighten up and have to wee alot is that normal went to gp thought it was water retention but wasnt stomach feels hard sometimes.dont feel hungry some days yet put on 2stone in 2 months.any ideas.

You haven't put details in "About Me", so I don't know your history or when you were diagnosed. I gather from your comments that you are on levothyroxine but wonder if you could get a print-out from your GP of your most recent blood test results complete with ranges and post again and someone will comment.

Weight gain is a common symptom of hypothyroidism and if you get to optimum meds or the addition of T3 your weight should come down.

Frequent urination is a symptom of hypo so you may well be undertreated.

Hi Only thing to add is try drinking more water, I know that sounds perverse but it does help. Also as Shaw says be sure to have your blood tests and you need Free T3 as you could well need T3 prescribed.

thankyou got to see gp after xmas abt my blood results will ask her abt T3 still think gps dont know much abt the thyroid just hope she will do it.Anyway happy christmas and thankyou for all your info.

Hi again, Do not bother to reply but one thing I thought to say, if ankles get swollen, so long as it disappears overnight it does not matter, if still bad in morning you need diuretics. hope you get on well with GP.
