Iron Deficiency and Iron Deficiency Anemia: Potential Risk Factors in Bone Loss
Members are likely all too familiar with patients being told that they are suffering osteopenia or osteoporosis due to having too much thyroid hormone. And, especially, too much T3. While it is important to realise that there is a case to be made regarding excess thyroid hormone, it is just as important

Suppressed TSH but hypo symptoms
Cold turkey stopped levothyroxine (synthroid) 200mcg for 17 days in Nov 2022. Prior, felt great. Went back on 200mcg right away and had every hyperthyroid symptom, it was hell. (tsh 0.04 FT4 18 (9-19)) I have been trying to find my dosage ever since. Titrated from 125mcg, 150mcg, 175mcg, 200mcg.

Daughter thyroid results
HiI am new here with a question for my daughter (19). She is really struggling with fatigue so much so she is home from Uni. Also feels sick, headaches, really cold hands and feet and very pale. She had low ferritin last year and was put on iron tablets for 3 months. She went for a private blood test

Feeling anxious about appointment....
Just wondering if anyone can shed any information that may help me understand. I've been unwell most of 2023, was in hospital for 8 days with suspected pneumonia. Prior to this I've had abnormal blood tests for a while. I'm anemic but my iron levels, vitamin b12 levels are fine... I've had a number

What the heck, Thyroid!?
Well, I found myself in this forum by following bread crumbs left by FancyPants54 Thankfully she's a bit messy with her snacks 😊 I've been on Pernicious anemia forum for the past few years dealing with my PA/AMAG. I think I may have been selected by whomever makes such selections to have the benefit

Hello all So after years of a tummy that reacted to certain foods, being diagnosed as gluten intolerant in 2016, really suffering in 2021 and 2022, following a FODMAP diet recommended by my doctor (don’t recommend) and getting to a point where I only ate the same plain things everyday, I finally paid

Folic acid
Hello all, I have always suffered with anxiety and heart palpitations. Recently, they became worse and I went to the GP who sent me for a blood test. The blood test showed that I have folic acid deficiency(<2.0). I've been taking 5mg folic acid for two months (I have two months left to go) and

Pregnancy supplements when taking high dose of folic acid for PCOS
Hi I’m 6 weeks along after a successful 5d embryo transfer and I am wondering what to do for pregnancy supplements: I have PCOS and take 5mg/ day of folic acid which was prescribed to me by my clinic. Most places I look say to start pregnancy supplements but these include more folic acid and I wonder

I saw Dr Scott Cooper this morning and I am hopeful that he will help me. He was familiar with augmentation and was very thorough is his examination. He has ordered a full iron panel and checking B12 and magnesium levels. In all he is doing 3 panels. He is also doing nerve conductivity test. He said

Newly diagnosed with low VitB12
Went to the GP a few months back with menopause symptoms. Mainly sleep issues, anxiety, brain fog and fatigue. The doc ordered a full fasting blood count which come back with me having low vitamin B12 (175), low vitamin D. (live in Scotland so most people are) and folic acid levels on the low side although

Cracked it .... and then it came back !
Hi everyone, A while ago I posted about how my RLS had virtually gone following the use of vitamin B1, in addition to the usual magnesium. Fennel also appeared to help. I am diabetic (type 2) and appear to have some form of neuropathy in the feet which can feel numb sometimes but not to the touch

”Reduced b12” - panicking
Hi everyone, I must confess, about 3 months ago, I didn’t even know what b12 was! But I can only apologise for the essay you’re about to endure. My story is a fairly long and often confusing one but the upshot is, about 10/11 weeks ago, I began with what seems now to be a panic attack in work accompanied
