My brother is in hospital waiting for an operation on a blocked bile duct! I just had a thought about the supplements he is taking..
Should he stop all supplements
He is taking
B complex
Vitamin D ( no K )
Probiotics 2x day
Liquid multi ( Metabolics)
Spray B12 ( his was very low)
My brother has an infection in his gallbladder and having 3 x IV antibiotic infusions a day!

when were thyroid levels last tested
He probably wants to continue B12 and vitamin B complex
Anaesthetic lowers B12
His last blood test was when he was diagnosed

Dr started him on 50mcg T4 then he couldn’t get out of bed with terrible chronic fatigue so two weeks later he out it up to 75mcg!! He has been on this dose 13 days.. he’s a big bloke 6 ft and 93kg and I’m concerned about him being on 75 and having an operation! With his high inflammation
If his TSH is too high anaesthetist won’t be keen to agree to operation unless it’s urgent
They are operating on him next week
Suggest you flag up to the Doctors his recently high TSH
They presumably will retest any way day or two before operation
