I posted here about a month ago complaining of lots of issues; dry skin, falling out hair etc, irritable, over emotional.
My TSH was 0.8 and lower range T3, ok range T4.
Since then I’ve lost 5lbs (diet and exercises) started taking vitamin b complex, vitamin d and a general health vitamin to improve ferritin etc.
Doctor did a full blood panel, everything normal, only tested TSH. (Now at 1).
I’m not entirely sure what’s happened but my skin is absolutely transformed. It’s not dry, itchy, flaky, in fact it’s beautifully smooth, clear, doesn’t need constant moisture. All of my previous issues listed above have also disappeared.
Is it possible that I was a) impacted by the +5lb weight (I’m still on 100mcg at 9.9 stone) or b) that I was mildly under the requirement for the vitamins and this has helped?
I can’t explain it! Am hoping it continues and that my hair recovers too, but only time will tell.
This is a great turn around 👏👏 getting your vits and mins optimised certainly is as important as getting the right dose, essential for good conversion and a little less body to share it around it's all good 😁
I would think that your dose was/ is about right the fact you were able to exercise and lose weight... isn't it fabulous when you turn that corner and recognise your old self 🤗
Worth getting another test done so that you have 'feeling good' results for the record?
Once you get the recipe right great things happen!
Common deficiencies that affect thyroid levels and/or conversion of T4 to T3 can make a huge difference. Vit D, zinc and Iron all have a part in helping your body make T3, the active hormone that regulates body temp, metabolism and affects every system in your body. It sounds like your T3 has increased. And B12 deficiency has many crossover symptoms that mimic thyroid deficiency. Keep in mind that taking biotin (part of B complex) should be stopped 7 days prior to labs. Biotin is good for you (skin, hair, nails) but it is used in processing your labs and give the appearance that TSH is lower than it is and that T4 is higher than it is. It doesn't actually affect your levels... Just the lab results. Congratulations!!!
