Hi thyroid forum people
I’ve just had my latest bloods back
TSH. O.005 (0.27-4.2) …. disappearing!
T3 6.1 (3.1-6.8) 81% thru range
T4 19.1 (12-22) 71% thru range
Three months ago they were showing 0.092. 3.8 and 13.7 - same parameters. That was on 1.5 grains.
The private doctor had wanted me to get to 5&15 for T3 and T4 so I’ve now reached that and more.
So how am I feeling? In some ways a little better but still very tired and get out of breath and energy easily but certainly better than three months ago. The palpitations have reduced a lot I guess as my body adapts to the T3. I still can’t lose weight which is frustrating so don’t think I’m over medicated, and don’t have other signs of over medication that am aware of.
I don’t intend to continue paying for the doctor as it’s very expensive. I’ve learned such a lot from all you good people. My ferritin was last measured at 28 (cant tell you parameters [something like 25-200] as am not at home with my papers but it just scrapes in the nhs “normal”! I’ve even bought some chicken liver pate this week which is tough as I was a veggie of nearly 40 years, for the last year I’ve eaten beef so thought I’d best try the pate as I cannot take iron due to a serum iron level above normal. Am also taking pumpkin seeds as recommended on here along with the pate. I read somewhere here that someone had an infusion which helped their low ferritin so I may ask for that, but have to be wary due to the serum iron level. 🤷♀️
I’ll go to Roseway for my next prescription. Im thinking of continuing on two grains and trying desperately to up my ferritin (not easy for those of us with messed up genes it seems) which am hoping will help my energy etc. my folate D3 and b12 were ok last testing. I’ve just ordered some Thorne B vits as recommended here.
If my levels continue to rise I may have to go to 1 grain a couple of days a week maybe? I won’t test again for another 12 weeks.
Am awaiting an nhs endo appointment, not holding my breath for that to come thru 😉 and hoping to find someone who’ll listen to me regarding the iron/ferritin situation. I feel more informed than ever I was before so more ready to stand my ground. Specially when the comments about where’s my TSH!?
I’d appreciate your thoughts. I began on 30mg Erfa September and have upped it to 60, then 90 and now 120mg .
Thanks 🙏💜
