Adrenal dysfunction
HelloI'm starting hydrocortisone treatment for adrenal dysfunction. Does anyone know if this will effect b12? Am I OK to continue with EOD injections? I'm wondering now if my symptoms are due to adrenal issues and not b12. Although my b12 before supplements was 215. Maybe both treatments will finally

A little overwhelmed
Was diagnosed as having hyperthyroidism several weeks ago. To say I was surprised was an understatement. I had asked to have bloods taken as I am on long term medication for atrial fibrillation and also mitral valve regurgitation. Both conditions had been well managed for a long time but I have been

Which Folate supplement is best?
Having watched Dr. David Morris 's video, he said Folic acid supplements aren't so good. So what's the best thing to get ? I do eat a fair amount of green veg, I'm no longer a Marmite addict, I occasionally buy liver paté. But I'd like to be sure I'm getting enough.

Can pernicious anaemia be caused by long term use of lansoprazole?
Hello everyone, I am a lady of 67. Ive been taking lansoprazole for years. Then I began to feel ill with various symptoms the doctor was not interested in or would virtually say I was a hypocondriac. I nagged and got sent to a consultant who said I had neurological problems caused by fibromylgia and

body giving up on me after Covid… the saga continues!
Hi all - body is still really giving up on me after contracting Covid in May and struggling to put it all right. I’ve had pernicious anaemia for many, many years but never experienced anything like this. My B12 definitely isn’t working properly and neither is my stomach! First came the tanking ferritin

Treating Parkinson’s by targeting the gut-brain axis with B vitamins
A study by Nagoya University in Japan found a link between gut bacteria and Parkinson’s disease (PD). Researchers discovered fewer gut bacteria genes that make B vitamins B2 and B7 in PD patients. They also found that low levels of these vitamins are linked to poor intestinal barrier function, allowing

stomach burning, acid reflux and anxiety
I would appreciate any help in combatting a burning stomach. I have had IBA for 30 years and was diagnosed with acid reflux and a hiatal hernia 2 years ago with Barrett’s Oesophagus but managed to calm it down with acupuncture and homeopathy. However, anxiety kicked off stomach burning 3 months ago and

Vitamin B injection
Hi there, my husband has been taking a b complex and a b12 supplement but hus b12 levels are still low so a doc prescribed a shot that includes B1, B6 and B12. Does that mean he can skip the pills? What about the other Bs, it doesn't seem very balanced? BTW, he doesn't have thyroid issues, but he didn't

High dose Ergocalciferol (Vit. D-2) for Osteoporosis?
Since losing my long time primary doctor last year, I am on my second doctor for advice for osteoporosis. I was reluctant to take Prolia recommended by the first D.O. doctor and the second Internist Doctor recommended 50,000 (I think IU) weekly for a couple of months. I haven't picked up the prescription

New test results as been feeling yuk.
Decided to have another Medichecks two days ago, now six weeks post covid negative. I’ve been quite hyper, getting hung up on cleaning, sleep is all over the place, full of rage so I knew things weren’t right. Craving coffee (rationing to 2 a day) and sugar - my mouth doesn’t even want to realise I’m

Why do all my symptoms suggest hyperthyroid if my results show hypo?
Hi everyone! I got my thyroid results about a month ago - first time ever tested. My GP initially wanted to test my thyroid because of these symptoms: sudden severe anxiety, trouble sleeping, shakiness, palpitations. I've also had increased sweating and some diarrhoea (not bad). I've lost some weight

New rules at GP surgery
My lovely GP retired a year ago and has not been replaced, and pressures on the Health Centre have led to the inevitable! I showed up a couple of weeks ago for my two monthly B12 jab only to be told that my levels needed to be tested and a review of B12 required. I had been supplementing with sublingual

Just another notch in the “how crazy is B12” totem pole. I just got back from an optometrist appt which I had booked because, after updating my prescription in May, I now cannot wear these new glasses (one for reading and one for long distance/driving). The new lenses were giving me vertigo, nausea
