New test results as been feeling yuk.

Decided to have another Medichecks two days ago, now six weeks post covid negative. I’ve been quite hyper, getting hung up on cleaning, sleep is all over the place, full of rage so I knew things weren’t right. Craving coffee (rationing to 2 a day) and sugar - my mouth doesn’t even want to realise I’m eating it.

I’m only sending what I think might be pertinent. I’d be grateful for any advice - am I at tipping point for Graves?

TSH - 0.423, range 0,27-4.2 (Feb 24 was 0.515.)

Free T3 - 5.1, range 3.1-6.8 (Feb was same)

Free T4 21.3, range 12-22 ( Feb was 21.1)

Folate 10.6, range >7 (Feb was same)

B12 76.5, range > 37.5 (Feb was 73.7). I have been supplementing but it really wires me up and I’m wired already.

D 75.7, range 50-250 (Feb was 103) mea culpa, not as assiduous in supplementing lately. That will change!

Antibodies.

Thyroglobulin- 27.1, range 0-115 ( Feb was 29)

Peroxidase- 47.1, range 0-34. (Feb was 994)

Previously, both these ranges were off the scales, one was over 3,000 when first tested.

All these results are from 75 mcgs levothyroxine, same for two years.

Thanks in advance.

You could only be at the tipping-point for Graves' if you have positive Graves' antibodies. And they haven't been tested. On the other hand, you do have - or have had - high antibodies for Hashi's, and with Hashi's levels can swing between hypo and false hyper.

But your levels are nowhere near hyper levels. TSH/FT3 and 4 all still in-range. Your FT4 is quite a bit higher than your FT3 but that could either be because you're a poor converter or due to a Hashi's swing.

Antibody levels fluctuate all the time, and it doesn't mean a thing. Even if they disappeared altogether (highly unlikely) you'd still have Hashi's, that doesn't go away.

On the other hand, your B12 and vit D are too low.

Have you been taking a B complex, or just B12? Methylcobalamin or Cyanocobalamin?

Do you take magnesium with your vit D? The two work together so need to be taken together.

Thank you. That’s reassuring.

I’ve been taking Igennus vit B, the one recommended on here. However it’s taken ages to get up to a full tablet and I’ve been on a quarter then a half, then back again. I haven’t been taking magnesium with D so I’ll start that. If I am a poor converter, will these measures help?

They might. And they might not. There are so many causes of poor conversion it's rare to find out why. But optimising nutrient levels is the first thing to try. Can you also get your zinc and copper tested?

Yes, I’ll look into it, hair and nails are still rubbish.

Thanks. Just need to find a provider.

Rather than continuing with vitamin B complex,if it doesn’t suit you…..try separate B12 and separate folate

Highly effective B12 drops

separate folate

Eg Jarrow Methyl folate 400mcg

Then just add a 1/4 or 1/2 tablet of vitamin B complex daily or even just few times a week

In week before blood test, when you stop vitamin B complex, continue separate folate supplement (eg Jarrow methyl folate 400mcg) and separate B12
