self inject journey

Hi all

So have ordered B12 from Versandepo.de. (I think - bad brain fog at mo) I need to order needles etc from medisave, as recommended on here, any one advise list of what to order, going to do subcut as not good with needles….🤢 (horrible childhood exp).

IM Injection at Gp Monday but not going to wait as long this time, I’m an exhausted mess. Feel like that old battery advert with the bunnies n cheap battery runs out n bunny falls over, as if need new batteries.

🐰

As an aside, had electric shock feeling in one finger, which then afterwards felt the finger was ‘sick’ for days(only way to describe it - weird). Have discovered low B2 & B6.

Thanks all for any advice, I’ll get there eventually. Xxx

I do subcutaneous injections at home .27-30G size needle suitable. 30G the finest . I use that size

. There is s little resistence as very fine so go slowly.

2ml syringe

21G needle to withdrawal b12from ampoule .

I use exchange needle supplies online.

There are many suppliers just make sure syringe compatible with needles.

You may want alcohol wipes ( not essential)

Also a sharps box .

I use a snapit to cut the top off the ampoule.

Many others online too.

2" away from belly button

Hips

Thighs upper arm.

Make a roll of flesh as its only going in thr subcutaneous layer of fat.

I've been doing them for over 5 years now .

Also have 6 weekly IM b12 💉 at the surgery .

Hope it goes well.

Thanks Nackapan. I need to move forward and it’s all new, never thought I’d be self injecting to improve health!

No none of us do.I infact presently get 2 weekly b12 injections on prescription.

Some self injected some IM at the surgery .

Also have own supplies as the neurologists recommendations initially were not accepted by G.ps !!

It was in writing .

I was copied into letter to G.p .

G.ps too much power perhaps.??

Thought if A consultant prescribed/ recommended it would just be done !!!???

Then one out of 6 gps in the practice sanctioned it.

A phone call out of the blue .

Still bizarrely buy my needles ect as g.p couldn't find a way to prescribe.

I.T systems for you.

I'm not complaining though !

Perhaps if self injecting yoh will be well enough to push for more.

Then thr need recorded on your medical notes .

You’ve had good advice from Nackapan . Just wanted to cheer you on ! You are on your way to better health ! Sub -cut is effective - it’s an approved injection method for B12 in Germany where the ampoules come from . So wishing you all the very best!

Thank you Nackapan and Wedgewood.

Went for IM at docs today & nurse pointed out I was a month too early…🫠

And I had forgotten to bring prescription ampoule 😵‍💫

I’ve got to get doc app to ask… (beg) for injection sooner …. Phone at 8am for appointment scramble, like Ryanair flights…. 🙄

I haven’t had an email yet from German pharmacy, am hoping I’ve managed to order it right!

Everything is hard work right now.

I feel so lucky to have found this site.
