Carnivore Diet - Can't solidly recommend it
I have been on the Carnivore Diet for 3 months or so, as part of my quest to ameliorate as much of my Young Onset Parkinsons Disease symptoms as possible. I'll sum it up a bit for you. 1. The diet consists of animal products and ideally no plant products. I ate mostly beef, eggs and butter, but

Folate
I did a full bloods Medichecks test. They have emailed me saying: Unfortunately, they were unable to process your folate biomarker. The results the lab were able to process, will be uploaded once they have been reviewed by a member of the medical team for you. I’m a bit non-plussed as I stopped taking

Well quite a good discussion with my GP just now! Reiterated my symptoms of B12 deficiency, Folate deficiency, Hypothyroidism, vegetarian and having a gastric band 12 years ago a lightbulb came on! Oh so yes probably good idea for B12 injections! She said she will write to gastroenterologists (I thought

Starting B12 injections
Hi I am hypothyroid, on Armour Thyroid but still dog tired all the time. I’m on HRT and I have horrible peripheral neuropathy in my feet and lower legs. I can’t walk well or for long at all. My gait feels really off. I’m stiff and have no muscular strength in my legs anymore so crouching down is impossible

Supplements before Diagnostic Blood Tests - Newbie Question
Hello I’ve had unexplained fatigue and neurological symptoms for 10+ years. I recently found out about PA. The symptoms fit my profile and when I mentioned PA to my mum she remembered that two of my great aunts had it. I have Hashimoto’s and psoriasis. So it looks like PA is worth investigating. I

Ferritin Questions
Hi everyone. I self inject b12, 3x per week. I also take a daily dose of methylfolate. In the past both of these have been extremely low, along with very low ferritin. Of late I have wondered if my iron was dropping, so requested bloods a couple of weeks ago. Folate happily is pretty good at 19( at

What deficiencies could B12 injection cause?
Some of you might remember me writing about how, since moving to Pascoe vials from Dr Myhill's multi use vial, I've been experiencing whole of body mini vibrations / electricity / agitation. It's particularly bad in the night and I wake with it. I had worked out that it's tolerable by reducing injection

How often should inject?
Background: Diagnosed 9 years ago with ME and fibro (b12 not tested). Been bedbound since but was slowly getting a bit better, then got covid and I never really recovered. Also have no working pituitary since birth. Asked for doctor to do blood tests and came back with b12 at 194. Was told to take supplements

T3 advice and suggestions desperately needed.
Hi everyone, I was so grateful to see you all still here. After 25 years of a ME/CFS diagnosis. A hospital endo has just picked up that I have very low T3 just scrapping in at the bottom and a high T4 over-range. I have always felt dreadful on levothyroxine and my final raise of 100 mcg was 4 years

Alendronic Acid
When I saw a new rhuemy yesterday she mentioned Alendronic Acid. I had not heard of it. I take Calcium D3 because a DXA scan showed osteopenia in my lower back. Would Alendronic Acid be helpful with Calcium D3 or instead of it?

Common Vitamin Deficiencies in PD?
I want to get a Vitamin deficiency blood test and I am wondering what vitamins to test for. The big ones I know I am going to look for are B1, B12 and D. Any other vitamins or non vitamins to look for?

B12 supplementation query
My active B12 level in 2022 was 66.1 pmol/L and following advice on our wonderful forum I began taking Thorne basic B complex. This raised my levels to 78.6 pmol/L in 2023. This year my B12 level is 76.3 pmol/L. So it hasn't continued to increase to the recommended 100 pmol/L. For the past ten days

Once I start supplementing B12, will my B12 blood tests still be accurate?
I would like to know if blood tests will still be a useful measure of my B12 levels, once I have started supplementing B12. I would be testing active B12. The reason I ask is that I have read pernicious anemia people saying that once they start injections (and supplements too maybe), that the B12 blood
