Hi,I've been diagnosed with PA since 2021. I was on loading doses, then 3 monthly. This didn't agree with me and I was exhausted so I was moved from 3 months to 6 weeks. I was still finding myself wiped after 4 weeks ish so was moved to 3 weeks.
During my 3 weekly treatment I began getting facial tingling. This was really intense so I dropped my B12 down to every 4 weeks.
At my last B12 as soon as I was injected I got facial flushing, a really horrible head rush and high heart rate (it went up to 145) for 10 minutes. It was awful. After it passed I don't remember too many other unpleasant symptoms.
However, I'm worried that it will happen again so have postponed my B12 to 5 weeks this time. I'm due it tomorrow but I'm so anxious. I'm feeling extremely tired though so I'm certain it's B12 but are those side effects common? I've never had them before and it scared me.
My folate is around 4.2 (pretty low) and my potassium is 3.9 so I'm taking 400ug folate and drinking coconut water daily. Should I keep waiting until my numbers go up for folate and potassium or should I just get it done?
Thank you!

Coconut water is overrated, high potassium foods are more worthwhile, which will in any case have health benefits besides their potassium content.
There is no reason for concern with potassium at 3.9 as potassium is an electrolyte and thus levels in the blood are extremely tightly controlled and unlikely to waver with diet anyway. The following video may help to explain. Watch from 12:34.
Your folate is low so keeping going with the folate supplementation is wise, folinic acid might be something to consider.
You could consider some allergenicity testing for the B12 injection - reactions can sometimes happen, maybe another brand or form can be tried.
For severe deficiency or neurologic symptoms, much more frequent B12 injections would likely be needed for some time.
Tingling or increased nerve sensations (including severe nerve pain where nerves are damaged), pins and needles etc, would all be normal to feel when correcting a severe deficiency.

This sounds like a normal adrenalin response to being jabbed with a sharp needle. Its probably that you are noticing things more and/or that your nervous system is working better.
I;ve noyt hand facial tinging but the first loading doses I got played havoc inside my head for maybe the first 3 or 4 . . . . . . Wifey actually done the driving. . . . . . Conclusion. . . . .
