Experience at Papworth and Barts
Hello everyone, I will be having mitral
valve
replacement
at some point… I’ve got to have an angiogram next week and then discuss hospitals with my Cardiologist. He mentioned Papworth and Bart’s, does anyone have any experience in either of these two for heart surgery?

Is my oestrogen high or low?
Hi everyone, I had a full hysterectomy two years ago and I've been having a bit of trouble getting my HRT right since. My latest results are attached but I'm confused as to whether my Beta Oestadiol level means my HRT (100mg patches) are working or not? I've been on them for about two months but they've

How much reduction in dose to lower TSH to please the specialist???
In July I saw an endocrinologist who found my TSH of 0.025 alarming. He wanted to lower the dose because "Low TSH can cause heart complications." (Eye roll) As many of you pointed out, it's not the TSH that's the problem. Is there sufficient, but not excessive, thyroid hormone to support cellular energy

Running after Hip Replaced
Hi, unfortunately after completing the program I had to have a total hip replacement. I have been told that due to this my running days are over ( not that I was actually much of a runner…more a very slow jogger!) but I just wondered what other people’s experiences are?

Direct measurement of T3 likely vital say researchers
This may have already been shared but I just came across an article about a new study that has stated that "It is important to note that the more typically measured biomarkers for thyroid function (T4 and TSH) are poorly linked to free T3 levels," Lawton and colleagues wrote. The ratio of TSH:T4 explained

Periods with HRT
Last Sept I had extensive excision surgery and the removal of one ovary. I was given utrogestan capsules and evorel 50 patches. However, I have had two bleeds one in dec and one in Jan, more like spotting but with all the pain like a period. I’ve called my dr as she wants me to go back and see my specialist

memory loss prostap hell
my life is a living hell at the min I have been on prostap injections now for 2 1/2 years. I was meant to be having a hysterectomy but because I have a complex medical history. They keep finding excuses not to do the surgery such as can’t have general anaesthetic because of XY and Z and I can’t

Negative SVT Ablation experience
Good Morning All, So I had my SVT Ablation on Thursday at St Thomas’. Not a great experience. Procedure took 3 and half hours. I was awake the whole time and conscious of everything! Four puncture wounds on groin. Two either side. I could feel the catheters going up into my veins and tweaking around

Addback HRT or Antidepressants?
Hi, I'm currently on zoladex week 3 of my first injection. I'm on addback HRT of estrogen gel 2 pumps per day and body identical utrogestan progesterone- one per day. Mentally I'm pretty good. I've not had any side effects yet and believe thus is due to the HRT and perhaps the fact that it hasn't totally

Does HRT help with fibromyalgia?
Dear fellow sufferers, Until I was diagnosed with fibro in 2021, I believed I was suffering with PMT, Peri-menopause symtoms. However, I am now menopausal and finding that my fibromyalgia, when in flare mode or hormone lacking mode, I am suffering double bubble symptoms!!! Do others suffer in this
