Valve replacement

I had an aortic valve replacement on 10/31/24 and would like to talk with others who had the same procedure because I'm scared and afraid to move.

Hi I had a biological valve replacement 4 years ago but unfortunately after a year it was picked up that I had HALT. I am now going to have another valve replacement and need to decide whether to have another biological valve or mechanical.

I am on Amiodarone, Apixaban, Bisoprolol, and Digoxin following a mitral valve replacement (tissue). I have been on Atorvastatin for the last two weeks and whilst at first it seemed OK I now seem to be having increased lightheadedness/dizziness – does anyone have similar experience?

I'm booked fir a ct angiogram and blood thinning injection.I have severe aortic stenosis, awaiting valve replacement. If anyone can advise if it's common to have this erratic change in HR. Is it a sign of a clot.

Please can anyone tell me the recovery time for valve replacement.

My husband had an aortic valve replacement by open heart surgery 2 wks ago, at the age of 79. They diagnosed atrial fibrillation before his discharge and prescribed blood thinners. He has been very tired since discharge, but has been unable to take his RA medication for two wks post op.

Anyone know how long it takes to get a valve replacement , when your considered severe with life expectancy of 3 yrs? I live in Scotland Thanks

Will my Time has come at last been 18 months so next Friday the 22nd to the Royal Brompton for my Aorta and Aorta valve replacement, been one hell of a journey up and down. but will be a now boy afterwards.

I had valve replacement in June of this year. Things have pretty much healed except that I am concerned about my heart rate which st rest is usually around 85 which I wonder is a bit high? I am on 1.25 bisoprolol. At night when trying to sleep I can feel my heart racing.

I have had two heart surgeries one fallot tetralogy one for pulmonary valve replacement. Does anyone experience more skipped beats or flutters when they have a cold etc?

14 years ago i had a congenital heart defect corrected with aortic valve replacement. I opted for a mechanical valve replacement that required anti-coagulation therapy for life vs another surgery 10-15 yrs down the line.

I had mechanical mitral valve replacement surgery last year. On Warfarin and Bisoprolol 5mg.I did a 5K parkrun yesterday in 31m 35s. I feel I had more in my locker to reduce race time further.

Hi all, I had a mitral valve replacement about 7 weeks ago and I read in all the literature that you may be able to hear it ticking but that it passes and you get used to it. I know am only 7 weeks in but I do feel a bit like the crocodile in Peter Pan.

I've recently had a mitral valve replacement and I'm struggling to get my heart rate under control. It's averaging around 115. I've just done my bloods and they are normal. My ft4 is at the very top of the range even though my tsh is normal. Any suggestions?

Have others had similar after valve replacement?
