I have been suffering from overheating since I had covid in 2022, thought it was my HRT tablets but wasn't (doctor has since taken me off them, another story) and has gotten worse over the period from then until now.
I start sweating no matter what the weather or temperature is day and night, I can just be sitting quietly and it starts, if I do any form of exercise, walking or even housework I start to sweat. I am not sleeping, aching from head to foot, brain fog worse than before, cannot walk for more than 500 yards before starting to flag and sweat.
Does anybody else suffer from this?
I have injections every 6 weeks and twice a week (when I remember, administered by husband as I purchase my own source of B12 from Germany). But this seems to have started when I had covid and wonder if it is long covid?

Thank you for your suggestion but I have read this aticle before but I found it was not helpful other that the Venlafaxine part, my doctor put me on these a while back and did not help as one of the main probems with this is excessive sweating. Took me ages to get off them and suffered while taking them with dizziness, etc., they are a bu**ar to get off, takes weeks.
Also have had my thyroid checked multiple times as I am about 3.5 stones over weight, no problems there but I suffer from not being able to lose weight, I have been to Slimming World lost 2.5 stones the first time but cannot lose anything other than 4 pounds in 2/3 months and nothing else I gave up after 4 attempts and a lot of money spent.
Has your thyroid been tested? I ask because overheating and inability to exercise were two of the main symptoms I had when I had an overactive thyroid. I also had a higher than usual heart rate.
I was diagnosed with Graves‘ disease which, like PA, is an autoimmune illness and therefore related in that sense.
I have had it tested multiple times, nothing wrong all normal according to gp. I find it really hard to lose weight but easily put on weight at the drop of a hat.
Before I started injecting more frequently I used to be hot all the time and always felt gross. I would always get night sweats too. I work in finance so I sit for a decent part of my day but had to keep a fan on all the time at my desk. Now that I am on a better treatment plan I actually get cold and no longer get any of the symptoms above. I actually have to use a heater at work now too.
Thise are symptoms of low hormones, particularly oestrogen. Covid can further lower oestrogen levels temporarily to make things worse. Consult a good menopause specialist and get your HRT sorted out and you’ll be fine.
He has taken me off HRT, which I didn't agree with but there is no arguing with my gp as he doesn't listen to me. I took myself off them to see if the excessive overheating was caused by HRT, but it was still the same, told him that then he said I'm taking you off HRT as I am in my 70s. Have had no problems with it before and I feel better taking it.
He’s clearly not trained or just anti HRT. You’ll have to project manage it yourself. Book to see a private meno specialist - they’ll sort you out. Alternatively ask reception if there are any doctors or nurses with a special interest in women’s health and menopause and book to see them. Sadly you have to fight for everything unless you’re very lucky. Some women have hot flushes for life and really need help. Even if they don’t want to give your HRT back there are other drugs that can help. It’s not fair to leave you. Also hot flushes can be a sign of an underlying issue that’s not menopause so again they should be helping you. X
I overheat and it is horrible. Weirdly I don't sweat that much I'm just incredibly hot and nothing seems to cool me down. In the summer I had ice packs attached to my body and this cold weather still hasn't stopped the overheating.Mine started not long after having my first civid jab. I do however have low ferritin which I'm increasing myself due to the Dr saying I'm in range.
So now I self inject twice a week with pascoe.
Take ferrous sulfate every morning with vitamin c and I have increased my magnesium.
This past two weeks I have had more energy than the past 2 years and I feel awesome for it. Being hot and fatigued was hideous. I'm still hot but that could go with more iron who knows. All trial and error. But energy wise I feel so much better.
Looking at the comments here and from my own experience, I would keep your mind open to the possibility there could be more than one cause. Dr's want us to have just one condition at a time (hence the ludicrous appointments system), but often it's no single thing. Thyroid, low oestrogen, iron/ferritin are all possible causes of this. Whether it's long covid is a more difficult one, but that again has anecdotally at least been reported to exacerbate existing conditions.
Personally I would seek a comprehensive set of blood tests, including thyroid. My friend had hyperthyroidism and had someone of the symptoms you describe. The Thyroid UK forum on here is excellent for advice in that area. Good luck on jour journey to recovery.
I would like to thank you lovely people for your replies, I find that this site is kind and thoughtful to everyone who comes on and has a problem, someone always tries to find a solution.😘
Pramela , sorry you’re suffering. I was referred to a long Covid clinic as I had much worse fatigue and autonomic nervous system dysfunction symptoms too. On google scholar look up papers in Dysautonomia / autonomic nervous system dysfunction and see if they are similar to any symptoms you have . B12 deficiency/ PA can also cause Dysautonomia symptoms too so a double whammy. Long Covid clinics can’t cure but they offer a lot of self help ideas to deal with symptoms . Mine admits they are still learning about Long Covid too but that there are similarities in symptoms between folk and are trying to help. My PA symptoms were exacerbated hugely after having Covid
After reading this it sounds like I have this, also my son has some of these symptoms as he is suffering from long covid. But getting my GP to listen to me is another matter, he is as thick as mince, has no bedside manner and never, ever listens to me. My PA symptoms are getting worse day by day as yours is.
