seeking advice

I was diagnosed with PAT and mitro valve prolapse years ago and have been on Betapace for over 30 years with no problems. I suffer with anxiety and bouts of depression and now a psychiatrist said I need antidepressants to help me. Which I agree but all interactions checkers say severe interaction causing irregular heart rhythms.

I would like to know if anyone is taking soltelol or Betapace and an antidepressant successfully together.

Hi, there's been lots of research recently that says in most cases anti depressants don't work except perhaps placebo effect sometimes, but they are harmful and addictive. They are basically a cop out for docs to give. Better perhaps to try to work out what the causes are and can you change anything or manage stuff differently.

My thoughts exactly! I tried the lexapro for two days and it was a nightmare. Took days to get back to normal. Very addictive. I think I will stick with taking clonaxapham as needed when my anxiety flares up. Seems to have worked for many years now. I think the depression was hightened because of estrogen dropping. Thanks for responding.

If he is not aware, may want to discuss antidepressants with your doctor. He may want to reduce dosage or possibly change medication if depression continues. Best to You !

I have been on sotolol and have been on Xanax for my anxiety ,They tried to switch me to something else alot are antidepressants that also work with anxiety . One they tried had an inside with affecting something in brain that increased appetite . And it did so stopped that one ( I do not need weight gain nor a focus on eating) They were unable to find me something else as the sotolol interacts with it .

I have issues sotolol causes insomnia , nothing that works to relive that as interactions but the sotolol has kept me in NSR and out of emerg since 2018 so they are not willing to switch me to another as possibly more side effects , so they think the insomnia is a lesser of 2 evils

I have brooches the subject of cbd or thc as I know some people have used them for sleep and anxiety and depression My doctor said write up show it interacts with sotolol and they’re have not been enough studies on either with sotolol that they would be comfortable giving me a heads up . I have found since developing Afib and going on sotolol , I feel much better and not as tired and my asthma is not as head since going off the metropolol , But I found now that I cannot buy anything over the counter with out clearance first .As if it does not affect the the Afib ( might bring on ) It interacts with the sotolol . Lol

I hope you’re able to find something that works wonderfully with the Sotolol .

I use clonaxapham instead of Xanax when my anxiety flares up. Which is not often. It has worked well with the Sotolol for years. Think I will stick with this. The lexapro was a mistake. The doctor told me to stop taking it because of the bad side effects, felt like I wasn’t thinking normal while on it and it made my anxiety worse than ever!

Thank you for your helpful reply!
