Summer is here finally
I joined a dear friend for a ride along the Cape Cod Rail Trail yesterday. As you can see, it was a gorgeous day. We are both fully vaccinated. She lives out of state and this is the first time we saw each other in over a year. Hugs happened! This is one of several pretty ponds along the route.

Covid Vaccinations - St Thomas’ Hospital, London
Hello, I have a Covid
vaccination
tomorrow at St Thomas’ Hospital in London and am wondering whether I’m likely to be given Pfizer or AstraZenaca vaccine (...given the clotting fears surrounding AstraZenaca, I’m hoping it will be Pfizer).

Side effects after jab or coincidence?
Might this be the
vaccination
affecting my immune system or a pure coincidence? Just thought I'd ask in case anyone else has had a similar experience.

A walk to the vaccination centre
Hi all Hope your day is going well and the weather is being kind to you. I had my first jab today and the process was very effective and streamlined. I walked there and back and was more than happy not to use the car and of course I took the pretty route. I walked 18,444 steps which equates to 9.23 miles

Shutting the door after the horse has bolted
It was a very long email covering all aspects of good practice and to tell me that I will get my
vaccination
early ( bit late for that I had the first one (AZ) 2 months ago and the other is planned for 2 weeks time due to me being a Septuagenarian.)

A nice 6k
But I have my
vaccination
after work tomorrow so I figured I couldn’t put it off until tomorrow. Anyhoo, I forced myself off the couch and did something that resembles stretching.

In remission for CLL and COVID antibody test came back NEGATIVE
I have been told I am in remission for Chronic Lymphatic Leukemia (CLL). That's the good news. Recently I read on a CLL forum I'm on that many CLL patients, because of their weakened immune system, may not be totally protected for COVID after receiving the COVID vaccinations. I decided to ask my Internist

Helpful slides on how the vaccines work, the covid treatment algorithm in the UK, how viral mutations occur and measurement of response to
vaccination
. Be aware that it's quite long at 90 minutes but you can skip the acute leukaemia parts. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1TQjSqyikt0 Jackie

Update re cataract surgery
I also asked if I could have the AstraZeneca
vaccination
and she said that will be ok for me. Originally she had told me at our last consultation not to go ahead with it as she needed more information about it. All my bloods were normal, which I’m so happy with.

I’m nervous too!
Although everyone has to face the reality we’re all forced to live in now, there are things that may be genuine causes for concern for us here. I don’t know to what extent FND has affected many of your lives but it has been a traumatic 12 years for me and I became disabled & unable to work almost immediately

Effectiveness of two jabs for immune suppressed patients

Today's powerwalk
We are moving at a rate of knots where the
vaccination
programme is concerned, my jab is this Saturday. I walked in to the city centre today and of course took the country route. The bottom middle photo is a tree on the edge of woods in full blossom, I could smell it as I walked by.

DIRE WARNING
I got my 1st COVID vax in Jan. 2021, and my 2nd in Feb. 2021. But since I've been reading a lot lately about the efficacy of COVID-19 vaccines with folks who have CLL, I knew I had to find out if the shots worked with me. So, when I had my regular family-doctor check up earlier this week, I asked him
