Hi all, how are you all? Hope you’re keeping safe and well (or as well us we can be).
Just wanted to ask a quick question, has anyone had any ear problems post their covid vaccine? I had what sounded like a wooshing noise in my right ear about 10 days post vaccine which turned into full blown buzzing. Now I have the strangest thing where music sounds a different pitch between ears, Googled this and there is such a thing and it’s called diplacusis dysharmonica.
See that there has been instances of tinnitus recorded post vaccination and just wondered if anyone else was experiencing the same.
Stay safe🤗🤗

I’m only 3 days post vaccine haven’t noticed any side effects to my tinnitus as yet m, though my hearing has been quite up and down recently so would probably put any changes down to that but will keep an eye/ ear on it lol, hope yours settles down soon. I get problems with music sounding off key will have to look up this dd thanks for mentioning it all the best Cathy
Thanks Cathy. Hope you have no ill effects. The out of tune thing is a new one for me. First noticed it when Eastenders came on, it’s wild, remember when Les Dawson used to play the piano out of tune? It’s just like that. It’d be funny if it wasn’t so annoying. Take care. XX
Yes remember that, don’t think I have that but I do have tinnitus differently in each ear which is frustrating sometimes though I can tune it out a little easier by listening to one rather than the other! Hope yours gets a bit better soon
Yes, I’m also experiencing tinnitus 4 weeks post vaccine. Had Astra Zeneca - which did you have? Am hoping it will resolve soon as it is very distracting!
Hi there. Yes Astra Zeneca for me too. I thought maybe it was just a coincidence but maybe not. As you said, it’s really distracting. Hopefully it’s a passing thing. Take care🥰
Yes, I have ongoing problems post first jab back in January which have included stabbing pains in the right ear. (No, not an ear infection or Giant Cell Arteritis; I had it checked) The pain has now sort of settled in intensity, but has extended as a kind of inner soreness to the left ear as well and the whole head is prickly and over-sensitive. Like its owner really. Last night I was woken by a headache which felt like the inside of my head swelling, accompanied by high pitched whining, which I presume is tinnitus; not had it before. Heart racing, which also I've not experienced before. Decided not to panic and eventually went back to sleep and woke up, with everything calmer. Some aggravation of the ANS I guess, caused by the vaccine. Yes, before anyone asks, I am in touch with the hospital, but sometimes it is difficult to know what to respond to urgently and what to allow to settle.
Hi Neriah, I’m sorry to hear that you’re having problems. A couple of other members have posted that they’re also experiencing noisy ears. Hopefully things will calm down for us all soon. You take care of yourself and hope you feel better soon🤗🤗
Hi Froggie 🤗Yes I've had problems with my ears lately however it had been going on since December n I had my vaccine mid February but it definitely got worse afterwards for a while n I'm still not back to normal..or maybe this is my new normal?!? 🤷
Other times though they clear n I'm suddenly really noise sensitive so I'm baffled!!
Hope it clears for u soon...I SAID I HOPE IT CLEARS FOR U SOON!! 😹🌈😽😽Xx
Well not sure if it’s talking about it or it’s the jab but my tinnitus is screaming! Was almost gone since I moved in November but 3 days post 1st jab it’s back with a vengeance, but I do have some sort of cold so could be that not sure whether to report it on the yellow card for side effects or not have you done that? X
Hello. I haven’t reported it but now I’m thinking I should. I certainly felt dreadful 8 hours after the jag for about 48 hours and I really should have done something about that by now. I think it’s a dose of lazyitis I’ve got at the moment. I hope you feel better soon and your tinnitus calms down. Take care. XX
