Anyone have any ideas what I might have now? It's got to be something to do with my thyroid as doesn't look like psoriasis etc. I got an appt through a text tonight saying I have to attend this clinic. Just worrying now as haven't had chat with dermatologist about results yet!! TIA x

Liver biopsy
Hi have recently been diagnosed with pbc and prescribed urso ( only 500 mg and I'm a large lady ! ) I am due to have a liver biopsy next week as some other blood test was off ? Not happy with the risk of death 1-3 in 1000 !!! Not sure why having biopsy as consultant was going to do a fibroscan but changed

Very tired.
Does anyone who is in early stages of PBC feel tired all the time? I have to take a nap every day and go to bed early. I was diagnosed early this year and starting last fall (a year ago) I have required lots of sleep. I take Ursodiol and it lowered my liver enzymes so it seems to be working. My biopsy

Bathroom issues and Urso
I am having a problem with diarrhea (sorry) lately. I am on a quest to find the source of my issues because it has reached a level that it is truly affecting my life. I have consulted with my primary physician and the gastroenterologist who is managing my pbc, looking for the source of the issue. I have

Advice regarding Consultant
Hello there, apologies for what might be a long post but I'm desperately in need of advice. I'm 47 yrs Old, in the U.K. and was diagnosed with PBC after biopsy and blood test. Consultant said I've almost certainly had it since 2009 but despite many tests and Drs appts it was never diagnosed. And I've

Urso
So I remember some few posted a while back that when first on Urso, you itched. But did anyone actually have hives too? The reason I ask is some, or one in particular said she just worked her way through it. I guess I'm going to try & find my way back to Urso.

Oclavia
I'm just curious as to how many of you take Oclavia. I know Shulsey takes it along with Urso.

Pbc trial😄
I was invited to participate in a Pbc medication trial .fortunately I'm a responder to urso witch I have been taking 1000 mg a day for over a year. The trail is to try and establish why some people respond to urso and others don't. Due in the trail I will be doing lots of different tests. My first

Biopsy says PBC/AIH overlap
So my Dr called today and said that I do have the PBC/AIH overlap. The biopsy/labs confirmed what she was thinking. Apparently it is that AIH that's driving this train. She said that my liver issues during my last pregnancy probably spurred it on, making AIH come on aggressively, but she is very

Ductopenic Variant anybody?
I seem to be picking up the house phone, it does not ring much and it is always medical stuff. Addenbrookes have had their meeting about me, that even makes me feel a bit worried. So as well as being the 5% AMA negative George has read my latest presenting issues and bloods and said there is a possibility

Ultrasound Vs Fibroscan
Hello Everyone, Well, it's been almost 1 year since I was diagnosed with PBC. I couldn't tolerate URSO at first, so I actually didn't get started on it until February of this year. I've had labs done pretty regularly (approx every 3 weeks) at first because they were watching my LFT's, but then my

Biopsy results
Hello all, I got a call from my GI's office with the results of my liver biopsy. She said it confirmed the diagnosis of PBC, but that she believes I have an AIH overlap. She said it was not noted on the biopsy results, so the doctor was currently on the phone with the pathologist who read my biopsy

At 6 month mark on urso and somewhat disappointing lab work
Hi! Just an update on me - I've been on urso since 3/30 so almost the 6 month mark. I've been showing steady improvement ( getting labs checked every 2 months) but my ALK jumped up this past week. My AST is down to 48 (was 115 at diagnosis - normal is 34) and my ALT is down to 85 ( was 219) so that's

Feeling confused, frustrated and worried.
An update, I seem to have been writing no positive posts of late. My latest 6 weeks check up at Addenbrookes, again I did not see George Mell, he is only seeing new patients and each time I attend I seem to be more worried and find that I am not getting answers or politician type answers. I even asked

Advice on taking Urso for a newbie :)
Hi - just wondering for all you experienced PBCers taking Urso - I'm new to this and have been started on Urso 750gmg once day - I've found it giving me lots of GI upset - do any of you take it in divided doses? Or usually just the once a day- thanks in advance?

Worried about Different Manufacturers for Urso
Since January I've been taking Urso made by the same manufacturer. Recently I've changed pharmacies because their price is 20.00 cheaper. When I went to pick up my prescription there, I saw it was made by a different manufacturer than the one I've always had. I was immediately concerned that it might

What can biopsy show the MRCP did not?
I am facing my liver biopsy tomorrow and I am wondering what the biopsy may show the MRCP did not. The MRCP came back normal so I was not sure if that means likely the biopsy will be good results as well, or what different things it would show. I'm sure the Urso is working though. I'm getting less
