Hi - just wondering for all you experienced PBCers taking Urso - I'm new to this and have been started on Urso 750gmg once day - I've found it giving me lots of GI upset - do any of you take it in divided doses? Or usually just the once a day- thanks in advance?

We are all different. I take all my 750 Urso after breakfast and it works for me. Other people find it works best to split the dose through the day. Trial and error I`m afraid! It seems important to take Urso after you have eaten.

I also have Ursofalk, other brands upset me so the make of urso may be causing you problems .so if you can try another brand but this has to be done through your doctor.

Hi

I started on 1250mg of urso and took it all together with breakfast which works for me then I can get on with my day.

I lost 4stone and my dose was lowered to 1000mg plus 400mg bezafibrate as I didn't respond to urso alone. This combination seems to be working and my liver inflammation is slowly lowering.

Experiment and choose what works for you.

Good luck x

Hi I have read that the brand urso seem to work better with the digestion side, something about the outer casing I think, I prefer the urso brand. I started with one dose a day but I too suffered a bit so changed to 3 in morning after breakfast and two after main meal at night. It's worked ok for me. I was told take one in morning and two in evening when I first started on low dose then upped the amount once I got used to it as its dose is on our body weight.

The Pbc compendium tells you all the info you need with Pbc and the rest you can find here lol.

Good luck.

I take 2 x 250 after breakfast and 1 x 250 after dinner. It works for me so i have stuck with it. I think the key is not to take on empty stomach. Good luck

I take mine with my meals after I eat on a full belly, at first it made me very ill I had to cut my dose in half and slowly work the dose up to the full prescribed dose. I still get belly aches and pain but not like before I figured this out to take it after my meals on a full meal.

I haven't had any issues with taking the Urso. I take 500mg in the morning & 500mg before bed, always have. 😊
