Questions for consultant - six months on from diagnosis
Hi there, I am due to go back to see my Hepatologist this week and have been trying to write a list of all the questions I would like to ask her (as I know my mind will go blank as soon as I walk through her door!). So far, I have come up with these: 1. Blood test results (comparison from ones taken

I'm so annoyed at myself.... I am due to go to the hospital today for a blood test ahead of my hepatologist appointment next week. Yesterday was my birthday and I was taken out for a lovely day ... but in all the excitement when I got home, I completely forgot to take my URSO :-( Is that likely to have

Pbs & cholesterol
Hi all, just been to my GP who tells me my cholesterol is high. Can't understand why as I eat a good diet of oily fish, salads, fruit, veg, small amounts of cheese, yogurts, no alcohol, lots of water. Very rarely eat processed foods or fats or red meats. Could it be anything to do with the urso? Never

Weight gain
Thank you all for your replies. Sounds like a lot of us on urso suffer with a bloated stomach. I look like I'm pregnant by the end of the day and my clothes are really tight & uncomfortable. Going for results of my blood test next week so will discuss it with my Dr. Have a good day x

Urso & weight gain
Morning everyone, not been on here for a while as I have been enjoying my new life in the sun. Awaiting results of my first blood tests in spain. Will keep you posted re. results. My question is, does urso cause weight gain? My stomach is getting bigger. Could it just be fluid retention or the urso?

Cellcept or Azathioprine
Hi, newbie here. 😊 A blood test back in 2009 confirmed I had PBC, but it took until 2015 and a liver biopsy for a definite diagnosis which also found I had auto immune hepatitis. I was put on Budesonide and Urso, but didn't get on with Urso so stopped taking, a few months later Budesonide was stopped

Ok, I’ve been reading on pbc fb that some people are having completely normal labs but pbc is still progressing.... in fact this one is a bad stage four... she is on urso and was told urso can cosmetically affect enzymes but not slowing progression. Has anyone else heard this? I’m on urso and have normal

3 months on Fenafibrate Tricor
I wrote 3 months ago that I was placed on Tricor, a cholesterol lowering drug that has been known to lower liver enzymes, as I was a non responder to Urso. My alkphos. was over 1,000 about two years ago. I was around 600 when I began the Tricor along with Urso. My recent blood work was so much better

Medication shortage?
Hi all. I live in London and my pharmacy is having problems getting my Urso. To make matters worse, after seeing my Gastro for my routine 4 monthly appointment and being given the prescription for my Colesevelam, the hospital pharmacist was only able to give me one month's supply. He told me they are
