Yet one more Metformin and statins query
Please spare me the guffaws and head shakes for asking once again about the value of these two medications in treating prostate cancer. I ask because I was informed recently that they may be beneficial if one has received radiation treatments particularly. No, my witch doctor did not tell me this.

This might sound strange
After my consultation with gastro, I told him my primary took me off statins "for now" and I asked about the meds he had me taking. He screwed his eyes "had mask on" up as though questioning my question. He said you have a perfectly functioning liver no need to stop any meds altho He had just said I

Im new here
Diagnosed in January with PMRGCA, also angina caused by a blood clot right artery leading to the heart taking 40mg steroids and statins for the heart. Was admitted to hospital with what I thought was heart burn, which turned out to be a heart attack of which I am now taking dibagitan ( anticolegent)

Had a stress echocardiogram today. Heart perfectly healthy nothing wrong at all. No fluid or blockage. Could have had virus or maybe vaccine caused fluid. Feel like I’ve won the lottery. All that stress for last 3 months and cancelled our Spain holiday for nothing 😞said could have been a virus when

High Statin Dose
Are any of you on 80% Statins, if so, does it make you open bowels several times daily, the outcome being, I have lost a lot of weight.

Help with test results anyone?
Can anyone help please? Had a fasting cholesterol test and I don’t understand the results 🙄. I’ve asked Doctor and his response was ‘it’s stable’ ?? As they are pushing me to go on Statins I really need to understand what they mean. This is what’s on the results. Thanks HDL Cholesterol Level 44P5

Reply to queries on paper by Bianco et al
This is a reply to a group querying the validity of Bianco et al's paper on T4/T3 prefrence by some patients. I thought it nteresting to read the various arguments so I put it in full here, as it's behind a paywall. Response to Letter to the Editor From Bonnema et al: “Comparative Effectiveness of Levothyroxine

High cholesterol & levothyroxine
Hi I have just had blood tests done @ GP to check thyroid/cholesterol. I do not have results but have a telephone appt. to discuss on Thursday this week - which normally means something is wrong. In the last six months my TSH has been 0.12-0.16 in a range beginning 0.3 & upwards. Doctor has been fine

Has anybody with low TSH and not converting a T4 actually increased their T4?
According to Patient Access my TSH has been exceedingly low for 20 years apart from a little blip when it came into range about 2003/4. My doctor used to do full bloods and because T3 and T4 were okay he wasn’t worried but other docs who only do TSH (in fact testing centres only do TSH, insisted I
