paxlovid interactions-statins, thinners
I was prescribed statins and eloquis both mentioned in this article as contraindicated for Paxlovid. But i did not take them for other reasons. I am getting C scan in Nov. to see if i should take a vacation from acalabrutinib in which case an urgently required trip to Estonia overseas might be doable

Statins and PBC
I’m male and was diagnosed with PBC 12 years ago. I’m broadly asymptomatic but because of raised cholesterol levels (caused by PBC?) have recently been prescribed statins. I’ve read that statins shouldn’t be taken by anyone with liver disease and wonder if others have experience of this.

other health conditions
I see some one mention other health condition can be associated with Thyroid problems. Ive been having low immunglobin levels different ones last year and this year? Also my Dr called me about my cholesterol being 5.7 and how it's the level they advise starting statins which I declined and will review

CAD - how should it be monitored?
My husband has 2 blocked arteries, one with more than 70% blockage, mild hypertension and now prediabetic. He smokes, has a high fat diet is obese and his job is very sedentary. He has had 2 stress tests in the 6 years since diagnosis which have been normal and he is on statins, anti hypertensives

Cholesterol and Low T3
Morning I understand there is a link between the two if T3 is low it can cause high Cholesterol which is where I am at? I have requested a private blood test but my GP has refused to acknowledge these in the past. How have others managed to obtain T3 if required without spending hundreds of pounds

Anxiety Advice
Hi, I've always been prone to low grade depression, but had never suffered from anxiety until i tried to come off Paroxetine (Seroxat) in 2013, having been on it for a number of years. Even though i weaned myself off slowly over 18 months the anxiety was severe and eventually i gave up, went back on

Alarming Fibroscan Results out of the blue.
My wife and I recently attended a Love Your Liver roadshow where we were both Fibroscanned. My results were fine but my wife had a reading where she was then given a referral letter to take to her GP. She is an active, healthy, slim 70 year old with no health issues apart from raised cholesterol for

Ranexa reaction
I had consistent chest pain following discharge from hospital a few weeks ago and was prescribed Ranexa. I had been admitted with a second myocardial infarction that turned out to be a NSTEMI MINOCA. My first heart attack two years ago required stenting and i have been on statins, aspirin and ramipril

Amlodipine side effects
Hi Guys I have recently been prescribed Amlodipine for high blood pressure and the first prescription was for 5mg per day, that made no difference to my BP readings, I was then prescribed the same meds at 10mg per day, since taking 10mg per day my calves and lower legs become swollen in the afternoon

I have run out of feathers to spit!
I saw the GP today and we had a "discussion" on prescribing and testing T3. She has been forbidden by the health authority to prescribe or test, and i can only discuss this with an Endo. She agreed I knew a lot more than her, but even so regarded T3 as unnecessary and dangerous, and warned me I was

Advice on pausing statins
Hi folks, I've been doing well recently - changed cardiologist, had my meds reduced and excellent test results. All was looking good. Then I had to make a routine appointment with the cardiologist for a repeat prescription of Artorvastatin. I tried a few times to get an appointment but kept being told

Statins
I’ve been on atorvastatin for a long time. My cardiologist wants to switch to rosuvastatin for better cholesterol control. I’m aware of atorvastatin being one of those statins with potential for slowing advanced prostate cancer. Is rosuvastatin in that same category?

Bempedoic Acid
It has been suggested that I start taking Bempedoic acid (Nustendi) tablets in addition to Ezetimbe - (which I have been taking for years) - as I have Familial Hypercholesterolaemia and am unable to tolerate Statins. I am just awaiting results of blood tests before I start the drug. I have been made
