Alternatives to Aspirin ?
What are the alternatives to aspirin? I have been on 75mg dispersable aspirin for the last 3 years after a HA, but over the last couple of months I have been experiencing stomach pains and cramps and general abdominal discomfort. My GP has prescribed Omerprazole but it has not helped! I am also on Ezitimibe

Hi all, I’m struggling with my cholesterol at last test it was 7.4 I feel it may have gone up now since having my gallbladder out and feeling very excited about the fact I can eat anything and everything, I have Autoimmune Thyroiditis too. Tried every statin on the market but on day 5 my muscles go stiff

The Challenge of Finding the 'Best' Diet - Vegan or .... ??
Hello Everyone I know this is a perennial question and there is SO much (often contradictory) info out there on the Net - from both more and less 'reputable' (scientific and unscientific) sources - but I am trying to figure out what might be the better of choices into the future. I saw this video on

Statins
I would appreciate any comments from you all on the pros and cons of statins. I am 5 years post op, 67 years old and have made a reasonable recovery. I recently had a blood test which showed my healthy cholesterol at 2.51 and my ‘bad’ cholesterol at 4.3. My Q risk is 13.5%. These numbers mean nothing

PCa survival among statin users after prostatectomy
New Finnish study below. "Statin use among surgically treated PCa patients has significant association with decreased risk of starting ADT and PCa death. The risk is lowered especially among men with statin use before PCa diagnosis and in men who used statins at high-dose." -Patrick https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov

Hi guys, first I got my results back today from my MRI scan of my head. It said everything was fine, fantastic but doesn’t help the scream I put up with day in day out. Anyway I know this might sound daft but I’ve been doing a little experiment with my four tablets I’m taking for blood pressure and so

Second Cardiac MRI
I was admitted to hospital with severe chest pain. ECG normal but Troponin level at 300, spent 5 days on acute cardiac unit. Angiogram clear, had a cardiac MRI, dr now wants that repeated. On meds for BP and beta blockers also prescribed statins which I haven’t taken taken. Meds making me feeling so

Statins and AKI
Hi guys, Anyone had any experience in this; About 12 months ago when my GFR was > 90 and my bold pressure was 130/80, because of high cholesterol my GP put me on 80mg of Lipotor. I thought why not. My blood pressure a few months later crept up to 155/95 (on BP meds) and fluctuated between there and

Anyone know of a home blood test kit company that runs the test for Thyrotropin receptor antibodies? I can't seem to find one.

Statins
Hi all, quick update. Been to the doctors today. She suggested I stopped taking the statins as that’s what could be the cause off my aching bones. Have to go back Monday for full blood test as the heart attack can also cause arthritis 😬😬 but she is confident that it’s the statins. I have to see if

Turmeric
Does anyone know if it's ok to have turmeric and black pepper mix whilst taking Methotrexate, Prednisone, Asprin, Statins and Omeprazole? As Tumeric is known to reduce Inflammation. Thank you.

Statins and RLS
I developed my RLS after taking statins for high cholesterol. The statins ruined the muscles in my legs and caused RLS. I stopped taking the statins, but the RLS remained and have had them for over 20 years. Has anyone gotten RLS after taking statins and having leg or other muscle problems. If so
