I've been traveling a lot the last week but finally caught up and noticed a lot of questions about Protein in Urine. I pulled this article from my research and thought I'd post it here to clarify some concerns people may have. If anyone ones the original location and any links it has please go to http

Kidney Transplant Issues
I am excited to join this community where us kidney transplant recipients are able to discuss the problems and frustrations that we encountered. I believe the dialysis doctors nor any doctors (at least in my experience) do not help you to cope with the trauma which we go thru. Currently, I am working

kt/v clearance
My kt/v increased from 1.37 to 3.29 since last month. Is this due to better dialysis or increased kidney function or both?

So many questions
I have so many questions to ask but my doctor doesn't have a few hours to answer them all. For instance why aren't people told that their kidney function is in decline by their doctor until they start getting symptoms or get to stage 3. This seems cruel and wrong to me? Why is your creatinine level

New here and worried about my Mom
Hi there my mom has in ICU for 6 days for pneumonia, organ failure and sepsis. She was put in a medically induced coma for the first two days but even though she has been off sedation for 4 days, she still hasn't woken up. They have done a CT scan and an MRI but nothing has been found wrong neurologically

Doctors wants to stop dialysis (NHS)
My Dad has had a bleed on the brain. I suppose I should start from the start so you understand... I actually posted a topic on here in January because his heart stopped while on dialysis. He has kidney failure. They also tell us his heart is weak. Which we have to believe because of it stopping while

Drop in haemoglobin
I had a phone call from my Gp today to say my anaemia has deteriorated. My usual level is 106 and it’s dropped to 94 for no apparent reason. I have stage 4 kidney failure, no dialysis yet and Vasculitis. I take iron tablets and Aranesp injections to increase my Hb levels. I’m waiting for Addenbrookes

What Is An “EGFR,” And Why And When Does It Matter?
This blog post was made by Dr. John Agar on April 12th, 2018. What is an “eGFR,” and Why and When Does it Matter? I often wonder why we tend to make kidney disease seem so mystical, so hard to understand…and so frightening. Of course, it can be all of those things, but many are unnecessarily frightened

Worried about mum.
My mum and sister both have PKD. I have just been told in the last week that I also have cysts in my kidneys and liver. (I'm gutted because this means I can't offer my sis/mum a kidney if they need one) My mum wasn't diagnosed until she was in her late 50's when one of the cysts on her liver burst and

CLINICAL TRIALS?
I have heard that clinical trials exist for experimental devices that can be worn on the body of a dialysis patient that will do the job of the big machines (I do not know whether it is under the heading of "hemo" or "peritoneal" dialysis, but I would *think* it makes sense (and less dangerous) if it
