I just started home cycler peritoneal dialysis and would like to hear people's experiences with different products. Am considering a dialysis belt instead of daily use of tape, which eventually irritates my skin. What features do you look for in a belt? Have you used a transfer set holder on a neck

Encouragement and a question
Hi. I've been waiting at home whilst my husband recovers from Covid. The history is: 5 weeks fully sedated ICU; tracheostomy fitted; 3 weeks to fully wake up; 2 weeks with MRSA; transfer to Renal unit for 3 weeks. Weakness on right side - no grip in hand and sore shoulder. Kidneys not working well

My kidneys failed because of microscopic

My Dad is fighting Covid on a ventilator
Hi, I hope you can help me. I am really struggling now, I miss my Dad so much. He was admitted to hospital in January 8th and has been on a ventilator since the 11th. He has contracted pneumonia twice and managed to fight it off both times. He had 2 mild heart attacks, one of which required a stent.

Skin problems
I have lost weight since the auto immune and kidney problem and the dialysis has made my skin loose, dry and dehydrated. I'm all crinkly with no collagen present. I use organic coconut oil in the bath and a thick body cream, but nothing appears to make my skin look how it was. Any suggestions?

Dialysis and/or Donor's List
My GFR is at 20 and the creatinine is around 2.49. I am wondering is my gfr going to drop faster now that I'm closer to dialysis, or will it continue to drop at the same rate? And for the people who got a donor kidney, how has that been for you? I'm trying to decide if I want to be on the list. I need

Covid ICU Septic Shock No response
My mom has been vented since 12/7/20 and in hospital since 11/19/20 due to Covid. On 12/31/20, she got a trach and started to really improve in the right direction. They got her vent down to 40-50% FiO2. Two days after her trach surgery, though she was still on fentanyl and precedex, we were able to

Father of son with Iga Nephropathy
My son is almost 44. He suffers from Iga Nephropathy. He received his first peritoneal dialysis treatment last night. He is on transplant list. His wife is accepted to be a donor. Hopefully a paired living donor match soon.

Sleeping kidney after transplant
Hi, My partner has just had a kidney transplant 6 days ago. He is 31 years old. He had 9% function before he received the kidney and wasn’t on dialysis beforehand. He’s in hospital and due to Covid he’s alone and I can’t go. He’s not great at talking to Doctors and I’m not getting any information. His

Need advice for backup power supply for doing home dialysis
My husband has been on home hemodialysis for two years. We want to get a backup power supply for the dialyzer in the event of a power failure. We know nothing about how to go about this. Does anyone else have a backup power unit for their home equipment? Thanks.
