kt/v clearance

My kt/v increased from 1.37 to 3.29 since last month. Is this due to better dialysis or increased kidney function or both?

From my experience, it may have been collected incorrectly. Staff will probably do a recheck to be sure.

"experience, it may have been collected incorrectly."0

Wow. How awful!

I'm sorry to say "collected" is inaccurate. KT/V is a mathematical equation regarding dialysis, time and volume. This is strictly used for dialysis clearances. While its possible a user error may have been made it is possible you're simply getting better dialysis. My Kt/V is usually nearly 4.0. But remember Kt/V has been considered an outdated and irrelevant measure of adequacy/clearance for dialysis since urea is the easiest to remove. A better marker would be to see how well potassium and phosphorus. Here are a couple of examples and explanations. niddk.nih.gov/health-inform... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kt/V medcalc.com/hd.html

I'm anxious to see why! :)
