Desperation setting in
Hello all. As it stands , my father is in icu. He has a viral pneumonia - could very well be Covid but not identified . He is on and off the bipap machine but overall trending well on oxygen . His issue is his blood volume which is low. He’s had to have five transfusions now and the “speculation “ is

Microgynon 30 for stopping periods?
I recently had a referral to query endometriosis. I've always had pretty bad cramps with my period, resulting in fainting, vomiting or both. Since my teens I managed it with ibrupofen, which doesn't completely stop the cramps but was at least allowing me to be functional and not faint etc. I also

Update on my T3 journey !
Hi lovely people in my phone. Firstly i'd like to thank you all for help in previous posts, it made me brave enough to search out rather than sit and wonder if help would come. I had the Mri as requested by the endo ( it shows some degeneration etc, but by his own admission he knows little about

What a difference time has made on thinking on thyroid function diagnosis
This 2014 article was the concerted work of many major influencers in thyroidology and treatment. Comparing the one here with 2021/2 discussions, it is educational to see how far their original stance has been subtly changed over the 7-8 year period. I'm showing it to contrast ways of thinking then

Tests for iron
Following the advice in the Mayo's clinic protocol, I asked my doctor for a full iron assessment including serum iron, ferritin, total iron-binding capacity, and percentage transferrin saturation which should be measured in the early morning after an overnight fast. She did not arrange any tests for

Bladder and bowel function

MRI for diaphragm endometriosis
Hi, I have had multiple surgeries for endometriosis however my diagnostic lap was not done by an endo specialist so I am worried that he didn’t check the main area where my pain is upper right quadrant of abdomen. T3 and excessive thirst
Hi! I wondered if anyone has experienced unquenchable thirst after they were prescribed T3? My endo prescribed 20mcg alongside 150 levo and I started Tuesday week ago. Previously I had been on 175 levo. The first few days were fine but since then I literally cannot quench my thirst. I was also prescribed

Neck/spine osteoarthritis pain
Hi, as a sufferer of osteoarthritis I’m hoping someone may be experiencing the same as myself and can offer some support. I’ve had a right hip replacement and will in time need my left hip doing plus probably my right one again too. I’ve also got osteoarthritis in my neck/spine and I’m sure it contributes

Newly Diagnosed
Hello All After a routine Mammogram and Pelvic scan to assess ongoing HRT prescribing, I was offered a Dexa Scan This I had and am told today that I have quite significant Osteoporosis. I am also on Levothyroxine for Under-active Thyroid and Dr wonders if I should cut down as I maybe over medicated

Third open heart surgery
Hi there, my partner has been diagnosed with severe aortic stenosis and will need a valve replacement soon. He has congenital heart disease and this will be his third open heart surgery. Has anyone here undergone multiple surgeries? How was it? There isn't much information online and I'm keen to know

Negative side effects of NDT/T3 with severe M.E. + Perimenopause
Has anyone else with severe M.E. found that beginning NDT & T3 triggered inflammation & perimenopause symptoms? I'm late 40's with severe M.E. (predominantly bedbound) + comorbidities, plus a recent Hashi's diagnosis. After 3 months of slowly increasing NDT -& adding in T3- my resting heart rate

Thyroidectomy and Patient response
This commentary in Clinical Thyroidology reviews a study which indicated that thyroidectomy is better than "adequate" T4 replacement in Hashimoto's, improving issues like fatigue etc. The authors do not understand but the answer is clear. In Hashimoto's with remaining active thyroid tissue, the situation
