Advice on ACTH and thyroid results please
I had a '2nd opinion' visit to an NHS endo on 24/8/22. I specifically asked the endo to comprehensively test my pituitary function, as I think that's where my problems are located (low thyroid and cortisol). She did a lot of blood tests and an ACTH test. After a fair bit of chasing up I've now been copied

Swollen leg leaves me frustrated
So a short bit of background: I travel to Maine in U.S. every August to "climb", hike, swim (float really) and kayak. Last year was rough and I mostly kayaked as my ACL's and MCL's (medial cruciate ligaments) in both knees are torn. This year I only managed two tiny mountains 5 days apart and bam,

Best HRT options after total hysterectomy
Hi, hope you’re all having a good day 🤗 After having a total hysterectomy and ovaries removed, I’ve been on Tibalone for a few years now, it seemed to be working, I wasn’t having too many menopause symptoms, but for the last 6 months it has got so bad, I have no energy, low mood, really bad brain fog

Does anyone know and take soya FREE Hrt?
I have been prescribed a combined HRT for osteoporosis as I am going through the menopause. To my disappointment, I have found that it contains soya based ingredients. As I have hashi's and don't do well when soya is eaten over time, I am reluctant to start it, but concerned about long term effects of

Advice before talking to Dr
Hello all, I realise it is Sunday evening but I am seeing the dr in the morning and was hoping for advice on what to say. I spoke to the dr about ongoing symptoms of lack of energy and flu like body aches. She wanted me to have a range of blood tests before choosing a path. All blood tests have come

Legal action against all this medical negligence... How to go about it?
Has anyone ever tried to take legal action against medical negligence?? I was never mentioned the possibility that my ovarian cyst and fibroid might have been endometriosis. Was never diagnosed with it despite my many years of suffering with PMS and heavy bleeding etc. I was totally against surgery

I’ve recently had a hospital appointment of a pre-op for left knee replacement. Amongst the many issues I have with complying with all the requirements for the best possible outcome, is one of weight. I have put on 6 stone in 6 months (thanks to pred), totally knocked off my feet with a DVT, cellulitis

Glad to have found this group
Hello, and thank you for the add. What follows is my bio, which I am using to explain why I wish to be included in this group. I have questions and no answers. My first awareness of osteoarthritis was in 2014 when I was told my should pain was due to bone spurs, no cartilage, and osteoarthritis. That

Fatty Liver - So worried
I gave up drinking about 3 years ago with some 'blips' along the way where I tried moderation which I absolutely know now does not work. However, the dragging sensation I used to get in my liver area when I used to take a drink has persisted into sobriety. I approached the doctor to look into this in

Pace and Ablate
Hello. Im Katherine and was diagnosed with PAfib 7 years ago. Ive had 2 Ablations. The first was aborted half way through due to a suspected bleed and the second was hailed a success. However it wasn't long before the afib returned. I also had tachycardia and ectopic beats. Medication didn't help

RLS what works for me
After bilateral hip replacement in 2015, I developed RLS in both legs, seem to hit at once when it attacks. Mainly at night of course or during meetings or when I'm still too long. I take a plant product called kratom. It might not be legal in all states but is in mine (for now). I learned about it

6 months after valve replacement and all is looking good.
I had mitral valve replacement exactly 6 months ago at Barts in London. It looks like people who are doing good are not writing on this forum. We usually see the others and therefore naturally think, after surgery people are not doing good. Its completely opposite in my experience. I had the OHS and
