Discrimination against central/secondary hypothyroidism
This was because my blood test results indicate that my TSH does not rise as my T4 falls and I have hyperthyroid symptoms plus ultrasound scan showing
thyroiditis
. Apparently, the endocrinologist will only prescribe for primary hypothyroidism.

Undiagnosed for too long
In a nutshell: Undiagnosed and not on medication Ultrasound scan showing autoimmune
thyroiditis
(not acknowledged or lost in system by GP practice) Latest blood tests: T4 is 9% through range Horrible symptoms Familial history TSH does not rise as T4 falls (TSH always within range) I have been waiting

Unraveling the molecular architecture of autoimmune thyroid diseases at spatial resolution
This appears to be an amazing paper - if you want to understand exactly what happens, where, in Graves' Disease and Hashimoto's
Thyroiditis
. Incredible number of images, lots of text - needs a slightly darkened room and lots of time!

Hemithyroidectomy
They also discovered background autoimmune
thyroiditis
which could put me at high risk of hypothyroidism. Here I am now at 12 weeks post hemithyroidectomy, feeling pretty rubbish, constantly exhausted, my anxiety has hit the roof and I can tick off most of the hypothyroid symptoms.

Feeling really lost
I spoke to an endocrinologist who believed this to be
thyroiditis
and monitored my bloods over the next few months. My TSH was monitored and over the course of the next 3 years would bounce around a lot.

overwork factor?
alright, i think
thyroiditis
and graves'and maybe even hypothyroidism could have overwork as a cause.who here has worked too much, too hard, for too long, and probably still doing it? do lazy relaxed people get thyroid conditions?

I have hypothyroidism…have I got autoimmune pancreatitis?
I wonder if anyone on here has been diagnosed with pancreatic inflammation which is linked with autoimmune
thyroiditis
? It’s a long shot, but orthodox medicine seems to perceive issues like this as either/or…

Increase in Synthroid Dose Worse Before Feeling Better?
I suspsect I've been undermedicated since they dropped my dose after
thyroiditis
from covid in 2021 which sent me in the hyper/less hypo direction (had to cut Synthroid dose in half for months). Just curious if this is indicative of needing a dose increase.

New person here...
I'm a hotbed of autoimmune disorders: arthritis, PMR, Hashimoto's
Thyroiditis
, & Sjegren's. I've been dealing with pain most of my life (I'm 79) but was only recently (officially) diagnosed with PMR.

What can I do to stop getting colds and flus all the time?
I have hashimotos
thyroiditis
and am stable on medication. I still get colds and flus all the time. I'm tired of being sick and it doesn't seem to be improving. Idk if this is related to PA or not. Any insight?

neck lump/bulge
I had a thyroid scan recently and they didn’t notice it, generally the scan was fine but showed hashimotos
thyroiditis
. I do have difficulty swallowing sometimes too. Anyone have a clue what this might be or is it just from weight gain?

update on subacute thyroiditis
Just posting an update on my experience with subacute
thyroiditis
. Thanks for the support in this forum! Since mid August I was quite unwell with classic symptoms of
thyroiditis
(significant neck pain, high inflammatory markers) and became quite thyrotoxic.

Association between genetically proxied glucosamine and risk of cancer and non-neoplastic disease: A Mendelian randomization study
A bit of a surprise to me - a link between taking glucosamine and autoimmune
thyroiditis
and autoimmune hyperthyroidism (as well as some other issues). As almost always, this is relatively early and needs further work to be sure of the full story. ORIGINAL RESEARCH article Front.

positive pregnancy test (no ivf) at 46 and underactive autoimmune thyroiditis
I’m in shock at two positive test but I’m realistic and have read that it could be perimenopause giving off the pregnancy hormones although still no period and I am very regular and have never missed a period. I’m also unclear at how common that would be? I am over a week late and I am going to the

undiagnosed, first post and sudden rash
I’m worried about my GP as it took them a year to diagnose my autoimmune
thyroiditis
and I was so unwell during that time (this was 12 years ago). I just turned 40 and started a new job and this all feels like pants timing. I’ve request an appointment with GP today as the rash freaked me out.
