Over-the-Counter Drug-Induced Thyroid Disorders
Cases 3 and 4 involved severe, symptomatic hypothyroidism induced in 2 patients with underlying autoimmune
thyroiditis
(Hashimoto's disease) following ingestion of Iodoral TM. In all cases, thyroid dysfunction resolved with appropriate management and discontinuation of the OTC drugs.

De quervain's thyroiditis
Iv'e been recently diagnosed with De quervain's
thyroiditis
and not Graves as originally told. Not sure what category to put it under as i know it's now a viral condition and less serious and will hopefully be better before long.

Autopsy
The autopsy also showed that she had an underdiagnosed medical condition Hashimotos
thyroiditis
, which the coroner described as a very unusual thyroid disease. The model had for years been on medication for depression, anxiety and panic attacks.

The thyrogastric syndrome: its effects on micronutriments and gastric tumorigenesis
Some 13% (32/240) of patients that we have prospectively followed affected with
thyroiditis
have also autoimmune gastritis. Helicobacter pylori is clearly implicated in 16% of autoimmune gastritis cases.

Further to my previous post where my TSH was 1.34 and my FT4 was 9.9, I have just had my Thyroid peroxidase antibody levels (157 iu/ml)
However, there is also a whole paragraph about Anti TPO antibodies being present in most patients with Hashimotos
Thyroiditis
and Graves etc. This paragraph ends "it follows that this is a non-specific investigation".

TPO antibodies, selenium and our autoimmune system
However, I have had two head colds in as many weeks and am wondering how autoimmune
thyroiditis
links in with the rest of our immune system?

How to approach doctors to test for CF?
but then not long after got
thyroiditis
and an underactive thyroid which took 8 months to clear up with medications so the weight loss slowed then, but now I'm starting to drop the kilograms again without trying.

Today I went to see my surgeon he said he thinks I've had
thyroiditis
for years and that my results for cancer are still inconclusive so a sample has been sent to a London hospital. I hope to find out before Christmas but I'm not holding out.
