I had Nstemi March 2024. I had an echocardiagraph and said nothing significant showed up and angiagram which showed mild build up in one artery. No stent fitted as tild not required. I have been off work for 4 weeks consultant said I could go back to work after a week GP said no! I am worrying all the time about what ifs. I was advised to walk 5 mins a day and build up stamina. I have had a couple of incidents where i have needed to use the NGT spray but my BP seems really low. Sometimes 60/40 then 90/60 I am on the proticol meds dosing aspirin, bisopropol clopidigrel lansoprazol isosorbride in morning and Evening rampril and rosuvastatin. I get really stressed about slightest thing sometimes leg swells and right arm. My legs are all lumpy now but do not leave a mark when I press. GP doesnt seem worried. I also havent been too active as I think I am going to have another heart attack 😪 but due to go back to work this week so getting worked up too. I also habe Hashimoto thyroiditis but apart from that I was otherwise ok. Is it normal to be anxious and worry about the slightest thing x

If you have had a heart attack or similar as you have you might be offered cardio rehab by the hospital that provided your care at the time. These normally happen a few weeks after your discharge. If you haven't been offered anything check with the cardio team. If you have you will be advised on the do and donts to aid your recovery, including diet and importantly exercise. In the meantime if you have any queries talk to the BHF heart helpline nurse who may be able to assist.

you’re probably in. Better position now than you were before March since you know what’s wrong, and what you yourself can do about it. The British Heart Foundation website has lots I of info about diet and exercise.

Weetabix - we think it’s healthy but just look at the amount of sugar in it. And cornflakes! Might your work bosses be helpful in giving you a less stressful time, whilst you get used to things in your new world?

Thanks for reply. I have a fab team at work who are really supportive. I work in a vets practice so have some back up to a degree with the vets and their skills. I think I am just worried and worked up about over thinking as I was at work when the first pain started and will it happen again. I never did worry or stress abiut anything to be fair and just took ecwrything in my stride. The last few weeks have made me overthink evwrything. Probably shock ! I am worrying about everything and probably looking up far too much on google and scaring myself to the point of total anxiety. Fingers crossed after a few days I will get back into my normal self. Just wish I could afford to retire but sadly have another 5 yeara to qork bwfore i get my pension. X

ok cat lady (what an appropriate name!). As I’d said, you are in a far better position now than you were in February because you now know a lot more about what your body is up to.

And as Lowerfield says.

Not what you're looking for?
