Postpartum Thyroiditis
I thought I was starting peri menopause and gp sent me for bloods and turns out I'm in hyper stage of postpartum
thyroiditis
T4 is 24 (not high compared to others I've read abt) but my TPO antibodies are >1300 Serum TSH <0.03 Gp has told me to take 40mg propananol daily and waiting on an urgent referral

Postpartum thyroiditis?
I since found out about Postpartum
thyroiditis
and wondered if my diagnosis was related to that and would somehow sort itself out in a year - 18 months? I'm just after anyone's experience with pp
thyroiditis
and how did you know that's what it was, rather than full blown hypothyroidism?

Carbimazol -postpartum thyroiditis
Hi all I'm due to start taking Carbimazol today. The Endocrinologist advised my Gp to prescribe it because the wait for an urgent endo appointment will be 8 weeks plus. I'm not very good generally at taking tablets Paracetamol for headache is generally my limit, as I get worried about side effects.

Still having neurological symptoms , hands not working properly, seeing dark shadows, breathless and suddenly gasping. My energy quickly

Thyroid Scan
20% of autoimmune thyroid patients never have high thyroid antibodies and ultrasound scan of thyroid can get diagnosis I’m curious to know what would show up on the scan to indicate autoimmune thyroid disease as opposed to it being caused by subacute

I researched this and states atrophic
thyroiditis
similar to hashimotos but more like graves desease or words to that effect. I was diagnosed with hashimotos after ultrasound just questioning this now as my symptoms a mix of hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism.

RAI 5 years ago - new tightness
At that time I would regularly experience tightness in my neck with mild pain ie
thyroiditis
. I haven’t had any issues in years but now I’m experiencing that tightness sensation again which doesn’t make sense as there shouldn’t be any live thyroid tissue there.

Eye problems Thyroiditis
I have been diagnosed with active
thyroiditis
and each morning I have swelling of the conjunctiva (chemosis). Other than cold compress and eyedrop tears is there anything else I can do and when will it calm down?

just started levothyroxine today
I have hypothyroidism caused by
thyroiditis
(probably the postpartum kind) I’ve started my pills today. The symptom bothering me most is muscle/joint pain. Did anyone see a quick improvement in this after taking the drug? Does anyone have any experience with water retention improving?

Question on THS and atrophic thyroiditis
I hope you knowledgeable people can help me with learning more to assist me with advocating for my own health. On this forum, it is agreed that THS is not the sole marker on which to base treatment decisions. In the case of a thyroid which is chronically atrophied, is the TSH likely to be of even less

What to eat?
Before I was diagnosed with
thyroiditis
and hyper phase I would eat fish three times a week. I've stopped as cos is very high in iodine.....was I right to do so as I didn't get any advice from GP about diet.
