Endometrosis ?
Hi, I've had a bit of a rough journey with regards to gynae problems. I could never take the combined pill as it affected my bp. My first pregnancy in 1998 resulted in me collapsing with severe pre eclampsia at 36 weeks. Luckily my daughter and I both survived. She's now 18 years old. I had my son

BSGE Centre progress
I've had a bit of a result today with my BSGE centre referral. My appointment was scheduled for August but they rang at 7.30 this morning offering me a cancellation! It was slightly unnerving when the radiologist said 'oh you poor thing', and at the end of the examination said she needed to consult her

side effects of prostap vs pain relief
Hi there, please forgive me if I make any mistakes here, I've never posted on this or any other forum before, but I'm hoping someone can help with advice. I have endometriosis. I was diagnosed 8 years ago, then told a year later that it was a mistake (because it didn't show up on an ultrasound scan)

Hello everyone, Several people on this forum have said some very kind things about the book I published a couple of years ago - Polymyalgia Rheumatica and Giant Cell Arteritis - a survival guide. Right now I am working on the second edition. Mostly for the 'patient experience' bit I was drawing on

Op in a week !!
Hi ladies, just over a week until my full hysterectomy and double oopherectomy. Must admit, am getting very nervous now, but also looking forward to being hopefully pain free after so many years. Has anybody been through this operation and could give me some reassurance and advice please? X x

New Research from USA about drugs and GCA-- some of this s quite technical but a lay person should be able to follow the gist.
Tocilizumab plus prednisolone was twice as effective as placebo plus prednisolone at inducing complete remission in patients with giant cell arteritis (GCA), and four times as effective at producing relapse-free survival in a small, phase 2, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial. Total LAVH hysterectomy with adhesiolysis - still in pain
Hi. I hope someone can help me. I had decades of pelvic pain which was helped by my taking the combined pill in my 20s (not allowed it post 30 due to migraines....). I had several pelvic ultrasound scans which didn't show anything untoward and a laparoscopy in 2007 which showed no signs of endometriosis

Home at last
Hi everyone. Well as you can guess I'm finally home after hysterectomy, ovary removal and excision surgery on Thursday afternoon. Took a bit longer due to complications after surgery. But I must say I feel fantastic. I'm in no pain just find I get tired very easily. Really was expecting it to be worse

NHS public consultation on Tocilizumab in GCA
Tocilizumab is one of the new generation of 'biologic' drugs which are being developed to treat a range of diseases, including inflammatory autoimmune conditions, like GCA and PMR. It has been used in a small number of GCA patients to see whether it could help reduce the risk of relapse and help reduce

Emotional
Hi hope everyone is as well as can be. I'm due to have hysterectomy (due to adenomyosis), ovary removal and excision on Thursday. I'm 42 with no children. I thought I had come to terms with this but the last few days I just feel so emotional. Anyone else who has had a hysterectomy did you feel like this
