Day 5 post op for ovary removal and feeling low.The op took much longer than surgeon thought as ovary was attached to bowel, really thought I would feel better than this I feel so low.
How long will it take before I feel relatively normal again ?

Hi sorry you are feeling low it is natural after surgery and particularly after ovary removal as it affects your hormones. I had total abdominal hysterectomy with EVERYTHING removed mid Dec 2015 it was about 2 weeks before I felt remotely normal and starting to recover. Be kind to yourself you have had a big op. All best wishes x
Hi just feeling pretty low I think hormones are all over the place really not sure what to expect with no ovaries just hoping it's not as bad as some of the things I've read
Best wishes to you too
Was it a hysterectomy? If so not sure how old you are but there is HRT. Ive only just got mine right and I'm feeling much better. I remember wanting to be so much further ahead than I really was in my recovery so I can tell you that slow is best. Do keep in touch. Have you looked at hysterectomy association website? You can hook up with people who had surgery same time as you x
Hi just ovary removed my womb has been left I'm 51 but been told I can't have Hrt because of family history of breast & ovarian cancer but start some homeopath remedies. I'm so impatient I just to wake up and feel normal lol.
X
Hello Wendyr2010
I have just joined this site today and was wondering how you are feeling now? I hope you are feeling better and the symptoms have eased 😊 Best wishes, Anna
Hi it took much longer than I thought and to be honest has been awful.Recovery from the surgery was prob 8 weeks before I had no pain although I still have some bruising on my stomach now !!
But the surgical menopause has been awful 30 plus sweats a day terrible anxiety & been unable to work as I've been so low, I really was not prepared for surgical menopause at times I truely thought I was going mad.
After discussions with geneticist & gynaecologist I went on hrt nearly a month ago and it feels like a miracle, sweats almost stopped and anxiety gone.It was a difficult decision to go hrt but definitely the right choice for me.
Glad you have got sorted with HRT - I have had/am going through menopauseso hoping my body won't have the shock you had 😕 I have cleared my diary until Christmas, I'm self employed so may do a little but have nothing pressing 😊
Hope you continue to feel well, thank you for replying😊
