Hi ladies, just over a week until my full hysterectomy and double oopherectomy. Must admit, am getting very nervous now, but also looking forward to being hopefully pain free after so many years. Has anybody been through this operation and could give me some reassurance and advice please? X x
Op in a week !!: Hi ladies, just over a... - Endometriosis UK
Op in a week !!
Hi Hun are you having excision as well? I had my hysterectomy with removal of both tubes and ovaries along with excision 3rd of March. My advise make sure you get plenty of rest and try and get some stool softeners as they never warn you about the constipation afterwards. Make sure you have comfy clothes and lots of box sets to help pass the time. Also try and get some gentle walking everyday as it helps healing, but don't over do it. I know you're nervous I was too but you'll be fine. I'm here if you want to talk. Keep us up dated.
Hi hun, I'm not sure about excision, what is that to remove any endo they see as well? They told me to get some laxatives as I will be constipated afterwards, especially with the codeine. I've got Netflix and Amazon ready for things to watch hehe. How are you feeling now after your op? Thanks hun, will keep you updated x x
What are you having the hysterectomy for? If you have endo this will not help unless you have excision as well. Are you having it by laparoscopy or abdominal? I'm doing ok still having issues with bladder. Rather suspect I have ic. Other than that I just get really tired quickly.
I've got endometriosis and Adenymyosis so should imagine I'll have excision as well. It is going to be a laparoscopic one. I have a few problems with my bowels. What is IC? Glad to hear your not doing too bad x x
Institertial cystitis(painfull bladder syndrome) it's like having a permanent uti. Hopefully your recovery will be a bit easier as I had abdominal and had an internal bleed after surgery. I wish you all the luck in the world Hun.
I had a hysterectomy last July, for adenomyosis, I recovered really well, but unfortunately I'm still in pain now due to have another laparoscopy to remove endo that I think was missed, I kept overies but now thick I will have them removed at this op, take lots of rest and small walks building up daily, listen to your body if your tired sleep if your hurting rest, good diet and fluids, it's not as bad as I thought, you will be fine, good luck xxx
Good morning darlin!
I had my hysterectomy on Monday this week, I am 30 years old, was diagnosed with stage 4 endo and adenonyosis. Even though I have some surgery pain which is no where near as bad as I thought, I don't feel like I have the endo pain! I feel amazing just 5 days after surgery!!
I really hope you get the same result lovely lady!!
Please keep in touch xx
