Just diagnosed
I had a phone consolation with my GP this morning, she has been amazing and so helpful over the last few months. I’d had all the blood tests done before COVID which ruled out various conditions and although there was nothing in my bloods to suggest rheumatoid arthritis there is a family history of it

No medication
So I finished my meeting with the endo, she said my symptoms were mainly due to anxiety and depression and so she prescribed me Cipralex (Lexapro). She said as I was subclinical, if she were to prescribe me with thyroid medication, it will make my anxiety worse. I have another meeting with her in 2

Orencia
Hi, I’m a newbie with Rheumatoid Arthritis. My Rheumatologist wants me to stop Plaquenil and go on a biologic. She suggests Orencia. Would appreciate hearing from fellow RA warriors who have taken Orencia (or other biologic) and if so, in what form - infusion or injection. Advice, please! Thanks!

Psoriatic Arthritis: What Immunosuppressants Help to Control Both Psoriasis and Arthritis? I'm New Here. :-)
I was prescribed Humira for Psoriasis by my dermatologist and it worked for a while and then seemed to stop. Derm recommended more topical Triamcinolone and wait out the flare. My rheumatologist did blood work that showed I had developed an immunity to Humira and prescribed Enbrel for Psoriatic Arthritis

Gout or RA
Hi all, long time no post and hope everyone is as safe and well as can be. Looks like mine has decided to aggravate me, now fingers tad painful just below nail bed , whatever that joint is as well as my knuckles. So trying to get appointment as looks like I may start with meds for the first time. However

Hi all. I'm new here. I don't have a diagnosis of Rheumatoid Arthritis but I do have hashimotos disease. What were your symptoms that lead to a diagnosis? I have widespread body pains. Lower back, wrists, fingers but the worst is across my mid to upper back. Sometimes I get burning sensations in my thigh

Kate Gilbert’s book. Polymyalgia Rheumatica and Giant Cell Arteritis: a survival guide. 2nd edition.
I just had to write to say how good this book is and I couldn’t recommend it more highly. I know many of you will already know it well but I’ve only just read it and apart from finding it full of useful information I was surprised at how enjoyable it was to read. I hadn’t bothered with it earlier in

Still wondering if it’s a flare or osteoarthritis
Hello all, I posted a few days ago about being in pain and wondering if I can start a new taper with back/sacral pain going on. If it’s a flare I don’t want to make it worse, and I’ve read on here not to taper if you are having pain. I’m currently without a rheumatologist. My GP ordered

Cytokine Dump and Osteoarthritis ?
Followed with interest the thread on Cytokine storm and our PMR cytokine dump and wondered if it occurs in OA. I am woken most early mornings around 2 to 3am with severe pain in my arthritic knees . Decided 3 days ago to add an extra 1 mg of Pred as an evening dose to the 5mg I take in the morning and
